Marketing Strategies
Marketing has been at the foundation of strategies for improving business performance and growth,
according to James (2020). Furthermore, marketing strategy is a business's overall strategic plan for
attracting potential customers and converting them into loyal customers of the products or services
that such businesses provides. Additionally, the implementation of proactive marketing strategies
will improve quick response to complaints, trustworthiness, adjustability, innovativeness, reasonable
charges, and friendliness of employees while delivering products and services, thus enhancing their
value and competitive advantage (Aregbeyen, 2011). According to Adach (2020), marketing
strategies are a time-sensitive issue that necessarily involves businesses to understand how and
when to re-evaluate their marketing strategies and activate digital platforms for the display and
delivery of their products and services in the event of a pandemic (such as COVID-19) that places
businesses under restrictions and lockdown. SMEs, according to Omowunmi and Idowu (2020), must
re-invent their strategies quickly and decisively during a crisis or risk being driven out of the market.
