All Phone Network Problem Solution!
by M.Usman · September 9, 2018

Last Updated on June 8, 2020 by M.Usman

Ever experienced problem with your phone’s network or do you notice that some or most
times people keep complaining that your phone is not available or that it is switched off? If
this is the case, all you need is a phone network problem solution. You might just be
experiencing a phone internal network issue real time, although this might sometimes be
due to technical problem from your service provider, but where the case is your phone
related, your phone will have to be completely diagnosed for the possible causes and
solutions.

How To Tackle All Phone Network Problem Solution

1. Circuit Board Components

In mobile phone repairing, network problem solution and dead phone power related issues
have been been known to be one of the most challenging as it consumes a lot of time in
troubleshooting the possible faulty paths. In cases that result from faulty components which
may include network RF Chip, network switch, network resistors and capacitors and other
ICs. When the problem is caused by a short, you will have to remove and replace the
shorted component, when it is an open circuit, simply make a jumper using a connection
wire.

If all that didn’t work out still, you may consider re-balling the network RF IC or the
network switch equally using the rework station. If this doesn’t work, you may still
consider replacing all the components if you have where to scavenge from.

2. Phone Network Cables/Casing

There are instances where network problems may arise as a result of a broken network
cable. When this occurs, simply replace the cable with a good one or do a jumper as the
case may be. In fact sometimes what you may need to do to solve a network or no signal
problem might just be to check for bad antenna contact.  The condition or position of the
antenna pins or cord cable is crucial as they might cause network fluctuations if they lose
firm contact.Sometimes, replacing a  charging sub panel that controls mouthpiece, speaker
and vibrator with a new one can also result in network problem. the diagram below and this
article on Tecno L8 and other sheds more light on how to do the jumper
I have also found out that most times phone develop minor network issues when their
phone’s casing begins to wear and tear. For example when the screws begin to lose out of
place and fall off, your phone network pin loses good contact with the main antenna. This is
even applicable to your phone’s FM radio module. Do you realize that some phone will
require that you insert and earpiece/earphone before it gets signal and you begin  to hear
real audio output.

3. Network Selection Settings

When considering phone network problem solution, it is worth noting that the network
settings environment of your phone can also be the reason why network is lost. It is wise to
do a manual or automatic network search as doing this also do help in some cases when the
problem is coming from that angle. It is best practice to do a network search before
embarking on a hardware fix.
Dead Phone Power Problem Solution

In this article, “Dead phone power problem solution”, I will be showing you how to handle
power related issues in mobile phones with respect to the circumstances under which these
problems do occur with focus on possible causes and solutions.

What Is Power Problem?

A power problem is when a phone shuts down and is unable to power on.  This situation is
very annoying especially if you have important information or data you have not backed-
up for one reason or the other!

Generally speaking, there are a lot of reasons why a phone could become dead, and thus
necessitating a power solution to bring such dead phone back to normal functioning
condition. So let me show you a list of possible causes and solution for power problem in
mobile phones. They include and not limited to the following:

Watch Video Tutorials:

<span data-mce-type="bookmark" style="display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-
height: 0;" class="mce_SELRES_end"></span>
Possible Causes Of Power Problem In Mobile phones:
Production Fault: Production related faults are one out of many possible causes that
necessitate dead phone power solution. This happens when you buy a smartphone only to
find yourself going asking for warranty considerations. This is why companies should be
flexible about this policy as users might feel cheated if they are not compensated
accordingly.

Water Damage: This is when a phone experiences water splash or falls in to it or any other
liquid that conducts electric current. Liquids, especially H20 (water) that conducts
electricity will easily convey electrons that will eventually create a chemical reaction with
the battery leading to explosions and damages to internal components on the phone’s PCB
or the logic and power unit of the mobile phone. “25% of phones fixed at Cute
Mobiletech are water damage related and are very challenging though good recovery
successes have been recorded”!

Bad Phone Chargers: None-OEM chargers that falls short of standard specification are
also one of the known causes of charging problems we have found to be part of the pack!
Sometimes, it could be as a result of using a faulty charger which may still be an original
one.

Faulty Components: The mobile phone is only mobile and handy, but is also like a PC. It
is a system of its own kind and has so many parts that are inter-dependent. When one
component is bad others could become affected and later may result in further
complications that could temporarily or permanently shut down a phone! Components that
may necessitate a dead phone power problem solution may include parts like. Shorted
diode, bad fuse or (R22), Shorted capacitor, power IC (integrated circuit) and so on.

Ageing Factor: Though bitter truth, no phone lives for ever! A phone will finally be laid to
rest either at repair center or even while in custody of the owner, this is because the
components that makes up the phone also have their life span limit which when reached
will result in multiple issues.

Corrupt Firmware: The firmwares are the program instructions that controls and give the
phone a “life to live”. Therefore, when the firmwares are corrupted by viruses or malicious
apps, things could go bad resulting in a dead phone.

Wrong or Custom OS: Wrong or custom OS or firmwares can result in dead phones. The
number one cause of dead phone problem especially in Mediatek powered devices like
Tecno, Gionee, Infinix, and some Samsung phones is when the “preloader file” is flashed in
to the lash memory.
Aside the list of possible causes of dead phone problem, there are others not in this list
which we will cover when this article is subsequently updated. But let me also add that the
CPU bad condition could result in power problem too if it has been badly affected.

Are There Possible Solutions To Phone Power Problem?

Frankly speaking, when it comes to solution to power problem, there is no one clear cut
way to achieve this. The only way we know for now that is working for us is the “ancient
path”, called “troubleshooting”, so if you are ready to fix that power problem, you will have
to get ready for “shooting with your weapon”. Oh, don’t get it wrong, the weapon am
talking about is your problem finding tool. That is why you can’t be a successful phone
technician if you have not mastered the art of using the multi-meter and other machines
meant for this purpose.

Some problems referred to as power problems are really not power problems per-say, but
just a minor switch problem. A switch problem just needs one to fix or replace a damaged
switch. There is no point saying a phone has power problem when it charges as you plug it
to electricity using a good charger.

How To Troubleshoot Power Problems In Mobile Phones

Dead phone power problem is a common phenomenon. The main goal of troubleshooting a
mobile phone is to proffer solution. To troubleshoot properly, ask the following questions
as if you are a Medical Doctor attending to a patient:

Did the problem happen shortly after buying a new phone? Then go for claims of warranty.
Due to faulty production, one could get a form of compensation.

Find out if it was caused by water or other liquid substances aside the ones that don’t
conduct electric current. If it was caused by water as the case is mostly, locate the areas
affected and clean up using a cleansing agent like ethanol-alcohol or menthylated spirit
which dries up quickly. After being heated with the rework-station or sun to dry up, the
phone should power on if it’s a minor case otherwise you will have to keep checking for
short or open circuit or shorted components that could be responsible for that power
problem using a multi-meter.

Find out if it was caused by a bad or faulty charger. To do this, use the multi-meter to check
if the current the charger supplies is above 5.0v and 2500mAh (2.5Amps). If the current
voltage on the meter is unstable, that’s a signal to watch. Look for the power diode close to
the battery terminal area where you see points like VBat, BSI, GND and so on. Shorted
power diode could cause power problem if affected by chargers or other causes. A normal
power diode in many cases should allow current flow in one direction and not back and
forth. If causes a short, replace the shorted diode or strike it out.
Find out if the phone was previously flashed: If you have found out that the phone went
dead after a flash, simply get the right firmware and re-flash back. If you don’t know what
flashing is all about, you can learn about software level repair here and that could help in
resolving the problem.

Phone Earpiece Problem Solution Quick
Fix!
by M.Usman · September 8, 2018

Last Updated on June 8, 2020 by M.Usman

Your phone earpiece problem solution is here! Have you ever wondered why you couldn’t
hear someone calling you from the other end during a phone call no matter how much your
caller screams out loud so you could hear him or her?  The earpiece problem in a mobile
phone makes it impossible for a receiver to hear what is being communicated from the
callers end.  The problem could among others be caused by any of the following:

Causes Of Phone Earpiece problem

1. High/Low resistance value
2. Oxidation
3. Bad/partial contact
4. Short or open circuit
5. Tampered settings

High/Low resistance value

The resistance value of an ideal earpiece should be within the range of 25 to 35 Ohms using
the Ohms meter. A higher value will result in low output while a lower resistance value will
result in higher output. Note also that when the output of an earpiece is too high its
dangerous to ones hearing. So the earpiece should be kept within range.

Oxidation
This happens when the earpiece region has become moist and covered with some dirty
particles over a long period, the chemical reaction result in  a faulty earpiece that has to be
changed for normal functioning again. Although there are times that just a mere cleaning of
the oxidized surface with alcohol Isopropyl or menthylated spirit using a tooth brush could
solve the problem.

Bad/partial contact
An earpiece problem could sometimes be associated with bad contact issues. It could be
partially  or even totally disconnected from the earpiece connector or socket. All you will
need to do here is to make little adjustment and move on.

Short or open circuit

This is sometimes difficult to sort out as it requires trouble shooting using the multi-meter
to find out open or short circuits. Remember that a short is caused either by a bridging or a
faulty component like capacitor, a diode, ICs etc while an open circuit is caused by a
missing path or a broken path. In solving this problem, all you need is to use your multi-
meter to detect the faulty areas around the earpiece region and replace or make wire
[jumper] connection as the case may require.

The problem sometimes could be caused by faulty audio IC which needs reheating or
replacement with the equivalent value. If the problem is complicated, then you will need to
get the block diagram for proper troubleshooting.

Tampered settings
The earpiece problem could sometimes be as a result of a tampered settings. To know if the
problem is setting related, just do this trick: try making a call and then locate your volume
up button and try increasing the volume, if you see that the volume improves, then the
problem is solved!

the need arises as phones often develop problems when you less expected.

o Unbricking Phones
o Flashing firmwares
o Flashing Recoveries
o Reading/backup or dump files
o Unlocking code, passwords, formatting etc

Some Reasons For Flashing With SP Flash Tool

Just as I have mentioned earlier on, there are times one will have to do a software repair
when things go wrong. Here are some circumstances under which you will need to flash a
phone or do any software repair using SP Flash Tool:

o The need to fix corrupted firmwares or flash files
o The need to flash a custom or third-party firmware for upgrade or better features
and higher android version
o To get rid of bugs
o Boot looping or lagging
o The need to get rid of locks or some other privacy protection
o The need to read or backup system firmware for other applications or uses etc.

Before Using This Tool For Software Repair

Before using This tool or doing any flashing or software repairs, it is good to make sure
you have the following in place:

o Make sure your phone battery is charged up 40 to 50 per cent to safely complete
the repair process.
o Make sure you have the right and original USB cable for the phone under
consideration.
o Make sure you download and properly install the MTK and VCom Port Drivers for
easy connection between the software and your phone.
o Your PC’s battery too should be charged to last you at least up to 50 per cent.

After making sure all of the above is well considered, you will need to now download SP

SP Flash Tool Practical Tutorial And Application

Now that you have got all the necessary information about SP Flash tool, you can learn its
practical application  on Gionee M5 Mini here.  However, you might need to read on to
the end before the practical.

Flash Tool Errors

During your SP Flash Tool practical application, you might come across a couple of errors
which are avoidable. In addition to what to do before using sp flash tool for software
repairs as outlined in the above third heading, make sure you have downloaded the right
firmware with the right chipset ID. For example, you shouldn’t attempt to flash a mediatek
firmware with chipset nos. MT6577 on another variant of same phone with chipset nos
MT6580 otherwise, the software will return a target error code.

At times when you try to flash a recent android phone with an earlier or older versions of sp
flash tool, you will also get an error warning. In that case you will need to use a more
recent sp flash tool software for that.

Note:

1. Do not interrupt SP Flash Tool while flashing a phone, otherwise your phone will go totally
dead and you might have to charge it all through the day for it to come on after a long
time on charge.
2. Untick the preloader file before flashing so your phone doesn’t go dead if the firmware
you are flashing isn’t compatible in terms of the preloader file.
3. Always take a backup of your phone’s (Software, OS, Flash File or Firmware) just in case
things get messed up and you need to go back to your former phone status.
4. If you phone is not recognized by PC, then you need to fix USB not recognized issues

USB Not Recognized Kcolo Alternative
Ways
by M.Usman · March 14, 2019

Last Updated on June 8, 2020 by M.Usman

The article, “USB Not Recognized Kcolo Alternative Ways” is hoped to help you with
USB not recognized problems while trying to flash or connect your phone to PC. This
problem can be very frustrating at times making it almost impossible for you to flash a
phone or even connect it to a PC to exchange files as it refuses to install drivers on your
system.

This problem is multifaceted, thus, you will need to find out the possible areas its coming
from by properly troubleshooting with your experience and vital information you can put
together. Using this USB not recognized kcolo alternative ways as shown in the diagram
could be of help if well implemented provided the solution is kcolo, colo or kolo related.
Notwithstanding, we will be considering other solutions aside the one in the diagram just to
be sure all “birds are shot in the head”! Below are Possible causes of the USB not
recognized problem.

Possible Causes and Solutions of USB Not Recognized Ways

 Interrupted flashing process
 PC error codes
 Short circuit or internal component parts

Interrupted Flashing Process: USB Not Recognized Ways

If you do not want to get freaked out, make sure you do not interrupt an ongoing flashing
process as this is identified to be one amongst other possible causes that necessitates the
phone USB not recognized kcolo ways alternative just to make sure the problem is solved.

Possible Solution
To solve the problem applying the USB not recognized kcolo alternative ways as show in
our featured diagram, look for the common between the volume up and the volume down
and connect it to ground: the common might be negative/negative or positive/positive
meaning you have to go with one or the other then reconnect to continue your flashing
process. when this is done, the phone should be detected again. Disconnect the common
after a successful flash before coupling the phone so your phone doesn’t automatically go
in to recovery mode or so. Remember that this alternative is only necessary if you are
working on a phone that doesn’t have the kcolo, colo or kolo test point labelled.

PC Error Codes
At times, the problem may arise as a result of some PC error codes. When you run so many
software that are at logger heads with each other, chances are that they might clash and
therefore alter healthy system software or application functions. Some times it could be as a
result of outdated system drivers that needs to be updated online . You might also consider
restarting your PC, but if that doesn’t work, you might want to check if your phone’s USB
driver has been properly install, you might also want to make sure your phone debugging
option is checked. To do this, go to setting from your phone, go to about, look for built
number and tap on it seven times until you see the statement “you are now a developer”,
head to developer option and turn on USB debugging and then reconnect your phone and
see if it works!

Short Circuit or Internal Components

When you have applied the USB not recognized kcolo ways and done the PC error codes
checks and phone  troubleshooting to no avail, you might want to further check if the
problem is as a result of faulty internal working components like charging port. If you want

Phone Charging Problem Solution
by M.Usman · September 9, 2018

Last Updated on June 8, 2020 by M.Usman

Have you been experiencing phone charging problem that keeps you wondering why? well,
you are most definitely lucky to find this post. I will be extensively dealing with this in
details until you find a way out of this mess! It is frustrating when you have a lot to do and
you can’t due to the fact that your phone is unable to charge, this is  more frustrating when
your phone is even powered by an inbuilt battery which makes it even worse because you
can’t even resort to using a universal charger as most of us do with detachable batteries
right?

After reading through this article, you will be properly equipped with the right information
with which to tackle this monstrous problem. Unlike the laptop computers whose charging
port is bigger and stronger, the mobile phones usb/charging port are somehow fragile, and
as a result they often get damaged after a prolonged usage. However they can also be fixed
or repaired to function well as normal as possible.

Charging And USB Pins

Charging problem solution is easier when you understand some basics. The usb/charging
port of most mobile phones have five pins, the first and the last pins are called Vbus/Vchg
[the positive terminal that takes in 5.0 volts] and the GND [Ground which is the negative
terminal that takes in 0 volt] when any of these two pins are broken or have partial or total
disconnection, a charging issue will be experienced and this will normally call for a
replacement.  But in some minor cases all you might need to do when your phone is not
charging is to check the charging port for any suspicious particle which you can use a tooth
pick to gently and carefully remove, you could also blow in air in the process and that could
even solve the problem too.

The other two pins are responsible for your phone being detected by your computer as an
external device attached.  When your phone does not get found or installed by your
computer, it is mostly as a result of any of these usb pins DP[D+] or DM[D-] and fixing
these two pins will resolve the problem. NB. In some phones usb, the D+ and D- are some
times in the reverse order e.g D+ comes before D-. The one after DP and DM is the fifth
one that is just there: meaning that you don’t really need to bother about it.

Procedure For Fixing A USB/Charging Port Problem

Fixing a USB/charging port could be sometimes complicated and challenging, but in some
cases its very easy to sort out. The following could be responsible for charging problem in a
mobile phone:

 Corrosion
 Bad pins/port
 Complete/partial contact
 Faulty internal charging components

Corrosion
USB charging port could be internally corroded and blocked by unwanted particles, in such
case a replacement or servicing becomes necessary. Replacing a USB charging port will
require the use of a special machine called the SMD Rework Station, but there are some
charging port that comes with a separate sub panel e.g Samsung Note series 1, 2, 3 etc
Infinix Note series phones, most Tecno android phones e.g. W series and others just to
mention but few. The point here is that if your phone’s charging port is the type that comes
with a connector point like the ones in the image below, it is easier for you to do it yourself
though most people are afraid to do some simple stuff because they are afraid they might
get something bad! Well, in that case you could get an experienced mobile phone
technician.

Bad pins/port
A charging port must be replaced with a good one once you notice that it has gone bad. The
signs includes: an internal or external broken pin[s], an extra large port opening. A broken
pin, e.g the vbus/vchg will always result in difficulty in charging. On the other hand, an
enlarged port will either make your phone charge on an off because the port has become
slacked as a result of wear and tear, you can adjust an enlarged port, but for a broken
internal or external pin, you will have to replace completely.
Complete/partial contact
A complete or partial contact could be responsible for complete or partial phone not
charging problem. In the case of a phone using a sub-charging panel, simply replace it with
a new one, this is even easy because it only need you connecting it to the main panel
through the main board socket, but if the phone’s charging port is the surface mount type,
you would need a professional rework station to do that, so if you can’t lay your hands on
that, simply get an experience phone technician.

Faulty Internal Charging Components

The charging problem could also be traced to a faulty or bad charging ICs, resistors, diodes,
capacitors, transistor switch etc. The charging components comes in different shapes, sizes
and values for some specific phones, so you might therefore need to study the phone
schematic diagrams to be able to differentiate one from the other.
Power charging diode could be shorted: The charging diode allows the flow of 5.0 volts
coming from your phone’s charger to pass through into the charging circuit just in one
direction, so if things go wrong, the diode could be internally damaged thereby making it
act as if it were a fuse, this condition can even result in several chargers being burnt if not
quickly detected, you could also notice the phone going off when charger is being inserted
while sometimes the problem could even be from the CPU. When the charging issue is
traceable to the phone’s Central Processing Unit, you would be working at own risk if the
phone goes dead in the process of trying to fix it, but with the right tool and mind, almost
everything is possible!

Looking for Gionee P5W USB charging solution ways? well, it is hoped that this article
will help you out in the quest here. A charging problem will usually make it impossible for
you to charge your phone.  Its even more annoying when you have a non-removable phone
battery which makes it impossible to charge your phone with the universal charger
alternative.

Gionee P5W USB charging problems just like any other phone, can be traceable to certain
possible causes which we shall be looking at and how to tackle them correctly so as to
achieve best result.
Possible Causes Of Gionee P5W USB Charging Problem
1. Shorted/faulty diode
2. Shorted/faulty capacitors
3. Faulty resistors
4. Faulty IC (integrated circuit)
5. Bad USB Port/Cable
6. Partial contact

The Above Possible Causes Could Be Further Caused By The

Following:
1. Exposure To Water: Water is a conductor of electric current which has the ability to cause
any of the above component parts to become faulty or even damaged beyond repairs. This
is because water reacts with the current supplied by the battery resulting in sparks,
explosions and eventually damages as well.
2. Bad Chargers: OEM (original equipment manufacturer) chargers are the best chargers for
a smartphone. The generic ones that do not meet standard specifications potentially
damages a phone’s charging system.
3. Ageing Factor: Ageing is a constant with any electronic gadgets, the components parts
that forms the charging system can become less functional and even worse with time as
they do have submission to the law of diminishing returns and would therefore need to be
replaced subsequently.
4. Excessive Voltage/current: The both cannot be separated in the process of charging a
phone, most phone chargers fall between 5.0 volt, 500mAh and 5.0 volt, 2000mAh
specification etc. It should be noted that using a charger that supplies voltage/current
more than what is required can be very detrimental to a phone’s charging system.
5. A Hard Fall: The component parts are solid state based, thus a hard fall will potentially if
not immediately cause a USB charging problem amongst other likely occurrences
like earpiece problem, mouthpiece problem,  network problem, screen problem.
Unlike software level repair that requires you mostly flashing a phone, in hardware case
you will have to troubleshot manually in order to locate the cause of a problem.

Haven considered all the above possible causes of a phone’s USB charging problem like
the Gionee P5W USB Charging Solution which we are considering now, the information
should be able to help you with a possible way out of this unpleasant circumstances.

Description of The Problem Under Consideration

1. It couldn’t charge and won’t even show any “charging icon” after several hours on charge
2. When the phone’s charger is plugged in, the phone gets hot due to a faulty diode
highlighted in the diagram below:
After removing/replacing the diode or replacing the sub panel completely, the problem
should be gone hopefully. You might also want to further read about All Phone Charging

In this article, I will be focusing on the Huawei  CUN-L21 USB Charging Solution.  A
charging problem will usually result in certain unpleasant situations. For example you will
be unable to charge your phones using the phone’s direct USB chargers, the universal
charger usage becomes impossible when you use a phone powered by an inbuilt battery
thereby making the whole thing even more annoying, and if you were expecting a bank
alert or on a business deal when this happened, possibilities are that you might start
thinking that the witches in your fathers village are the ones pursuing you because they are
after your progress.
If you are unable to get your Huawei  CUN-L21 USB charging solution after trying other
methods, this article is hoped to solve that problem with respect to certain details.

Possible Causes Of Huawei  CUN-L21 USB Charging Problem

1. Shorted/faulty diode
2. Shorted/faulty capacitors
3. faulty resistors
4. Bad/damaged charging coil
5. Shorted/faulty IC
6. Bad USB Port
7. Partial contact

The Above Possible Causes Could Be Further Caused By The

1. Exposure To Water: Water is a conductor of electric current which has the ability to cause
any of the above component parts to become faulty or even damaged beyond repairs. This
is because water reacts with the current supplied by the battery resulting in sparks,
explosions and eventually damages. Don’t mind phones, they love water too just to cool
off even though yon never want that to ever happen anyway! laughing now….
2. Bad Chargers: OEM (original equipment manufacturer) chargers are the best chargers for
a smartphone. The generic ones that does not meet standard specifications potentially
damages a charging system, and then you begin to wonder how to manage your life if the
phone uses and inbuilt battery that you can’t have access to charge with universal
chargers from “china”. life is not fair anyway!
3. Ageing Factor: Ageing is a constant with any electronic gadgets, the components parts
that forms the charging system can become less functional and even worse with time as
they do have submission to the law of diminishing returns and would therefore need to be
replaced. This is same for even you, your hair will definitely become grey sooner or later
abi?
4. Excessive Voltage/current: The both cannot be separated in the process of charging a
phone, most phone chargers fall between 5.0 volt, 500mAh and 5.0 volt, 2000mAh  or a bit
more in terms of specification. It should be noted that using a charger that supplies
voltage/current more than what is required can be very detrimental to a phone’s charging
system.
5. A Hard Fall: While falling down from a tree high in the sky, you would probably be
meditating what the law of gravity is in real life! The component parts are solid state
based, thus a hard fall will potentially if not immediately cause a USB charging problem
amongst other likely occurrences like earpiece problem, mouthpiece problem,  network
problem, screen problem. Unlike software level repair that requires you mostly flashing a
phone, in hardware case you will have to troubleshot manually in order to locate the
cause of a problem.
Haven considered all the above possible causes of a phone’s USB charging problem like
the Huawei CUN-L21 USB Charging Solution which we are considering next, the
information should be able to help you with a possible way out of this problem.

Carefully study the below diagrams and make sure you understand what you are doing
before embarking on any repair!

Description Of The Problem:

The phone under consideration had two problems:

1. It couldn’t charge and won’t even show any “charging icon”

2. When the phone’s charger is plugged in, the phone gets hot due to a faulty “black square
shaped” diode with “3 point interface”.

Huawei CUN-L21 USB Charging Solution

1. Dissemble the phone using the screw driver
2. Using the phone opener, carefully remove the phone enclosure(casing)
3. Using the tweezer, gently disconnect every connectors
4. Remove the phone’s PCB (Board or panel)

After doing all the above, remove the marked diode and replace. Note: if you do not have a
replacement for the diode, your phone will still work fine.  Notwithstanding, if you can get
the component, just replace it. But just in case you replaced it and the problem persist,
remove the diode and assemble your phone since you can still get a charge without
replacing it!
This article will be updated as soon as we have more information for you, so you can keep

Phone Mouthpiece Problem Solution

Quick Fix!
by M.Usman · September 8, 2018

Last Updated on June 8, 2020 by M.Usman

The mouthpiece problem in mobile phone is mostly caused by the malfunctioning of a
small component called mouthpiece, it is usually found at the base of the phone when held
in a call position. The problem makes it impossible for people to hear from you whenever
you initiate a call. The problem resulting from the mouthpiece is multi-faceted.  The
following among others could be responsible for a mouthpiece problem in a mobile phone.

Phone Mouthpiece Problem, Possible Causes And

Solution:
1. High/Low resistance value
2. Oxidation
3. Bad/partial contact
4. Short or open circuit

High/Low Resistance Value

The resistance value of a healthy mouthpiece ranges between 600 to 1800 Ohms using the
Ohms meter.  So when the resistance value is lesser than 600 Ohms your mouth piece is
louder so people can hear you even louder than usual and when the mouth piece is higher
than 1800 Ohms people will hear you very faint and this is because high resistance opposes
the flow of current required for the mouth piece to function properly.  To fix this problem,
simply buy a new one or get a scrap phone, remove the mouthpiece and using your
soldering iron, solder it to the mouth piece interface of your phone taking note of the
positive and negative wires.

The negative wires are black colored while the positive wires are red, or yellow colored
mostly  in the case of universal or wired mouth piece. For other mouthpiece that used
flakes, just connect with jumper wire  if you notice there is a break and that will be okay.

There are some other mouthpiece that are surface mount in the sense that they are soldered
on panel or PCB [Printed Circuit Board] of the mobile phone, in this case you would need a
mobile repairing equipment called the rework station and this is mostly used by
professional technicians for doing a lot on the PCB including the removal of surface mount
or soldered mouth piece. If you do not have access to the rework station, then you will have
to visit a care center for a more professional service.

Oxidation
Oxidation is also another cause of mouth piece problem. This happens when the mouth
piece region has become moist and covered with some dirty particles over a long period,
the chemical reaction result in a faulty mouth piece that has to be changed for normal
functioning again. Although there are times that just a mere cleaning of same oxidized
surface with alcohol or menthylated spirit using a tooth brush could solve the problem.

A bad/partial contact
A mouth piece problem can also result from a bad contact, meaning that there is either a
partial or total disconnection between the mouth piece and the interface it is supposed to be
connected to.  What you would simply do in this case would be to just tighten the phone
more with screw driver, or you locate disconnection and solder appropriately, and with that
your phone’s mouth piece would be back to normal.

Short or open circuit

In a layman’s word, a short circuit simply means that a component has been bridged in the
phone’s PCB or board. Short is caused when a diode, a capacitor or some other IC
[integrated circuit] in the phone are internally bridge for one reason or the other e.g water
damage, conducting materials in between internal components. In this case you might need
the services of a professional, but before heading for a professional, after dissembling the
phone, try and see if you can locate any foreign particle that could be bridging other
component together and remove them as this sometimes even solves the problem thereby
saving you money, time and energy.

An open circuit on the other hand, means that there is a total or partial disconnection as a
result of a missing or damaged path or parts, and this can also happen internally which
means you will need to troubleshoot with the help of block diagrams for the phone under
consideration. In this case a special troubleshooting becomes necessary and only a better
trained experience technician would handled that, but you could try something out too. Just
check if there is a noticeable wire disconnection from the mouthpiece and solder it back to
position with the help of your soldering iron.

Fake Phones Exposed Completely

by M.Usman · August 19, 2018

Last Updated on June 8, 2020 by M.Usman

The article “fake phones exposed completely the smart way” became necessary so as to
guide anyone who wants to get value for his or her money. Over the years, the smartphone
industry had gone through series of what could be called “the Smartphone evolution”. This
evolution resulted in the flooding of the smartphone market with so many options to choose
from in terms of quality, design, size and affordability. This piece focuses on guiding
prospective buyers from buying “chinko” unawares!

Knowing just a few things as a phone user will save you that waste of scarce resources.in
making this choice a lot of prospective smartphone users had ended up paying for the fake
phones exposed already in ignorance! In most cases they are unable to get value for their
money and thus resort to making another budgeting from their hard earned income.

A Client’s Experience
I do vividly remember a friend whose smartphone was stolen while he was enjoying his
sleep. A few days later, he went to one of the phone shops in the city to get a good phone
with awesome functionalities only to end up with garbage! He couldn’t even install any
useful android applications because the phone was just a big for nothing! It had large
screen, it looked fashionable, it was well pouched cased, yet it was just useless. He tried
to return it for replacement but all was to no avail and had to resell it to get another. You
see! He went through all that pains because he was ignorant of these secrets you are about
to learn. I can assure that you will not be making the same mistake he made! or better still,
if you have already got all the real versus the clone phone challenge issues figured out, you
could still make something useful out of this piece of information so that you won’t “fall
mugu anymore.”

The Challenge
Real or original smart phones are difficult to recognize especially now that the cloned ones
are competing with them. For instance, I had come across Tecno Camon C8, Camon C9,
Infinix Note 2 x600, Samsung Galaxy Note 8+ and Note 9…. all fake! The amazing thing
is that the manufacturers of these fake phones have mastered the art so well that it is
difficult for the innocent and unsuspecting buyers to differentiate. The painful part of it is
that the vendors sometimes charge you almost the same price as the original. In this guide, I
will be giving you tips on how to separate the big boy’s smart phones from their copy china
fake counterpart with no strings attached!

Manufacturer’s Official Specifications

Before buying a phone, you should check online for the manufacturer specifications of that
phone you want to buy. This is important because all authentic phone manufacturers have
their website where you can find out about their product. Don’t be lazy just check it out
first before the rush. knowing official manufacturer specification is essential to getting the
authentic and official ones that keeps you out of regrets and unnecessary “wahala”. See
example of an official manufacturer spec. for Infinix Note 4 to help you in identifying specs
of fake phones exposed in terms of difference of standard specs.
Key Features: Infinix Note 4 Specs Highlight:
 OS: XOS Based on Android 7.0 (Nougat)
 SIM Type: Dual SIM (Micro) 4G LTE:
 Screen Size : 5.7 Inches FHD IPS Touch screen
 Resolution: 1080 x 1920 pixels
 Processor Type: Octa-core CPU, MediaTek MT6753 Chipset
 RAM: 2/3GB Internal Storage: 16/32 GB.
 External Storage: microSD, up to 128 GB
 Back / Rear Camera: 13MP camera & Dual LED Flash Front Camera: 8MP
 Front-placed Fingerprint scanner
 Battery: 4300 mAh Non-Removable

Having a good official specification of a smartphone is a very strong guide against all those
china clones that will make you feel disappointed and cheated.

Spotting Search
To spot fake phones exposed, search Google for key words like “clone, fake, or copy  of the
phone you have in mind. For example “Samsung Galaxy J7 clone” “iphone 8 fake”, etc.
When Google search engine displays them right away under view more images tab, then
you should know that you are not to rush, just check out the differences. Some of the areas
you will see the physical  differences includes the battery and its labeling, the Sim and sD
card slot design and positioning, the camera and the external flash led, size, weight,
slimness/thickness, the internal features and so on….

Fake Phones Exposed: Youtube Leak

YouTube is a rich resource site for spotting out the fake phones exposed out there as clear
as possible as there is hardly a clone phone that has not be captured, rumored and exposed
via so many passionate contributors….for example this YouTube  embedded video shot
exposed all the differences between the original versus the fake Samsung Galaxy S8+ and
many others you can find on Youtube channels contributors.

Firmware Nomenclature
All mobile phones do have something called firmware, flash files or [phone operating
system software]. Have you had phone technicians say something about flashing a phone or
so? Yeah, I guess you did! What it means is that they are going to reprogram your phone
with the official firmware to get rid of some phone software related issues: Phone
rebooting, getting stucked on boot logo, System lagging, viral infection, unstable app,
unfortunately this or that has stopped issues….. Just to mention but few are what
necessitates flashing a phone!
Now, the trick here is this, that phone you have in mind, try to search for its firmware or
flash file online via Google search engine….you can check sites like: firmware.gem-
flash.com, needrom.com firmware flash file because they most time attach the firmware
files for download with the graphics or images of both original and clone and with certain
details about their different files. Phone vendors won’t tell you all this so as not to miss the
sale!

Also Read: 5 Things To Consider Before Buying Phones

The main point here is this: there is a distinction in the naming and the size of the flash
files. For example the original Samsung galaxy grand prime SM-G530H firmware file is
named like this: G530HXXU2BOH7_G530HODD2BOH3_INS, while the clone fake will
be named like this: MT6572_NAND_samsung__SM-
G530H__fortunalte__4.4.4__ALPS.JB3.MP.V1

The naming, numbering and letters for  Samsung “MT” simply means it is a fake. The MT
means Mediatek chipset version, while the naming pattern of the original Samsung phone
as seen above suggests that its either qualcommn snapdragon or exynos. This last one may
sound awkward mostly for the non-techy folks, but its worth giving the attention!

Why Your Android Phone Isn’t Getting

Operating System Updates and What You
Can Do About It
Chris Hoffman and Cameron Summerson

@chrisbhoffman

Dec 19, 2017, 9:00 am EST | 6 min read

Back in the early days of Android, system updates were very random: they would roll out at
different times, and often several times per year. Now, Google has taken a much more
streamlined approach, releasing one major Android update per year and much smaller,
security-focused updates once per month.

But if you’re not running a stock Android handset that is updated by Google—like a Nexus
or Pixel device—who knows when, or even if your phone will ever even see any of those
updates.

New Android users are often disappointed to discover that their shiny new smartphone
won’t get any updates—or worse, that it’s running old software the moment they bought it.

The Android Ecosystem

Unlike Apple’s ecosystem, where Apple releases a single iPhone each generation, Android
is a much more open (and messy) environment. Any manufacturer can make a smartphone
or tablet, throw Android on it, and release it. While there have been 14 different iPhones
released since 2007, thousands of different Android phones have been released in the same
period of time.

RELATED: Are Cheap Android Phones Worth It?

As such, Android phones use a wide variety of different hardware. Some phones are made
to be super cheap, available free on contract or for inexpensive purchase by people in
developing countries. Some are “flagship” phones, with more advanced hardware than the
iPhone.
All that said, there is a series of Android phones made to directly mimic (and compete
with) the iPhone in terms of release cycle and product support: the Pixel line. While any
manufacturer can release an Android phone customized to their liking, the Pixel is Google’s
in-house brand that is designed with the purest (and cleanest) of Android experiences in
mind. Updates to the Pixel lineup of phones is handled by Google, so they’re generally the
first phones to receive the newest software when it’s released.

For the rest of the pack, however, it’s a very different story.

Why Your Phone Hasn’t Received That Update

I mean is it, Samsung?

To make Android work on their hardware, device manufacturers (like Samsung, HTC, or
Motorola) must write Android device drivers specifically for their phones. These are often
closed-source, so they can only be updated by said manufacturer. Google can’t just release
a new version of Android that works on all devices—they release the new version, then
manufacturers have to go in and tweak it for each of their phones.

It’s not just drivers, though, either. Most Android handset manufacturers—like Samsung
and LG, for example—“skin” their phones to make them stand out in the crowd. And by
that, I mean they add/remove/change the interface and apps to make it their own. But all
these additions take a lot of time and energy to add. So every time there’s an Android
update, the manufacturers have to take time adding all their fancy crap in. That causes a
huge delay.

And, of course, some new versions of Android just come with increased hardware
requirements, preventing them from working on older devices—the same is true for the
iPhone (and even desktop computers).

However, since there are so many Android phones, a lot lose support much earlier. If a
manufacturer comes out with six different models every year, is it worth continuing to
support all of them…every single year? Android manufacturers often aren’t as interested as
they should be in updating devices after they’re released (especially cheaper ones). With
the large amount of models being released, there’s little incentive to put a lot of work into
updating an older model that’s been replaced by a newer one, especially when they’d rather
encourage you to buy the newest model anyway. This has gotten better over time as
consumers have pushed for better support as flagship phones get more and more expensive,
but we still have a long way to go for manufacturers like Samsung to support their
hardware the same way Google does.

Lastly, Android smartphone manufacturers are also beholden to cell phone carriers, who
can delay updates by months on their networks. While Apple has the muscle to overrule
carriers and roll out new versions of their operating system, Android phone manufacturers
(mostly) do not. Again, this is getting better, but it’s still not great.

How to Get Updates Sooner

RELATED: The Pixel 2 Isn't Really Exclusive to Verizon: You Can Use It on AT&T, T-
Mobile, and Sprint

If you’re sick of not getting updates, there’s one very clear path to take: buy a Pixel. These
phones are designed, sold, and maintained by Google, so they get updated when the latest
versions of Android are available—on time, every time. Google also guarantees that level
of support for at least two years for all major Android updates, and an unprecedented three
years for monthly security updates. That’s damn good support right there. (And despite
what you’ve heard, it’s not exclusive to Verizon.)

If you absolutely can’t buy the Pixel, though—say, if you’re dead set on getting the newest
Samsung Galaxy—then go for it. The good news is that most of the major players, like
Samsung, have gotten much better about supporting their flagship handsets, at least for a
couple of years. For example, my one-and-a-half year old Galaxy S7 is running the same
version of Android as the much-newer S8: they’re both running Android Nougat. But that’s
also the problem: they’re both running Android Nougat.

Even though the S8 is Samsung’s current flagship, it still doesn’t have Android Oreo,
which has been available for a few months now. So, while you’re still likely to see the
update on a non-Pixel flagship, you’ll likely still be waiting months for that to happen. It’s
all about deciding what’s important to you, honestly.

There is another, much less-recommended way of making sure your phone has the latest
version of Android, as long as you’re very tech savvy: Custom ROMs.

Custom ROMs and Community-Developed Android

Updates
RELATED: How to Flash a New ROM to Your Android Phone

Android is open source, so it’s possible for Android users to take its source code and roll
their own operating systems—known as a custom ROM—for their smartphones. If you
have a reasonably popular device, there are likely other Android users out there developing
and tweaking custom ROMs for it—LineageOS is currently a great place to start if you’re
looking to get in on some ROM action.

However, custom ROMs aren’t officially supported, and require a lot of work to install and
manage (much more than the average Android user would want to do, or even have the
technical know-how for), but many Android geeks use and love custom ROMs.

Custom ROMs allow Android geeks to buy hardware they like and install a more stock
Android operating system on it, removing the manufacturer’s software customizations and
updating the operating system to the latest version. Popular Android phones are more likely
to be supported, though as time goes on, manufacturers are making it harder and harder for
developers and ROM hackers to get the required access to build ROMs for devices.

The best thing you can do if custom ROMs are of interest to you is scour the XDA
Developers forums for all the information that you can on your particular handset.
Ironically, Pixel phones are also going to be some of the most ROM-friendly devices out
there because Google allows the bootloader to be unlocked, removing the security that
keeps the OS from being tampered with.

What to Avoid When Buying a New Phone

So, if you’re in the market for a new phone and proper updates are a concern, there are not
only clear directions on what you should buy, but even clearer guidelines on what not to
buy.

First and foremost: if you care about updates, don’t buy cheap phones. Remember how we
said manufacturers aren’t incentivized to update cheap, less popular phones? You will
almost certainly experience that firsthand if you buy something under $500. And the lower
the price, the less likely that phone is to get updates.

Motorola phones might be an exception—and that in itself is a big maybe. I can’t expect

Motorola to put the same level of support behind the budget-minded Moto E as they do
the flagship Moto Z. It’s unfortunate, but that’s just how it is.

The more you go up in price (and popularity), the more likely a phone is to get updates. But
there are no guarantees, unless you buy a Pixel straight from Google. But hey, at least
Android gives you the choice.
Phone Chargers Bad? Here’s The Way
Out!

It is disheartening to discover that your smartphone chargers are gone bad after an
unexpected power surge, such things do happen, and when they do,  its hard to get the
original Chargers back, though not completely impossible. If by circumstance you are
unable to get the right charger for your type of device, then this post should be useful to
you as you take note of specifications I will be giving you as an alternative so you could
still move on with your device!

The Manufacturer specifications for their mobile phone Chargers do differ and this is due to
the fact that the batteries in these mobile phones are not the same in terms of their material,
chemical combinations and reinforcements. Is important to understand simple tips to keep
our phones running smoothly. Some phone’s battery do last longer than the others due to
differences in their Amperes. The Amperage of the battery is what determines the number
of hours or days it can last. So, that’s to say that the higher the amperage, the longer your
battery last during usage depending also on how much time you spend on your phone. Let’s
say for example you have an infinix phone with the following specs:

Infinix Note 4 Specs Highlight:

 OS: XOS Based on Android 7.0 (Nougat)

 SIM Type: Dual SIM (Micro) 4G LTE:
 Screen Size: 5.7 Inches FHD IPS Touch Screen
 Resolution: 1080 x 1920 pixels
 Processor Type: Octa-core CPU, MediaTek MT6753 Chipset
 RAM: 2GB
 Internal Storage: 16 GB. External Storage: microSD, up to 128 GB
 Rear Camera: 13MP & Dual LED Flash Front Camera: 8MP Front-placed
 Fingerprint scanner
 Battery: 4300 mAh Non-Removable

Battery Specification
Did you see the battery specification? It is rated at 4300mAh. If you now try using a phone

charger of just 5V and 500mAh to charge this phone’s battery, you could
keep waiting till eternity because you will waste your time waiting for a full charge for
many hours. But the same 5V/500mAh battery will be excellent for the basic or feature non
smart phones you can use for just just minor activities like calls, SMS, Opera mini
browsing with other small java apps.  For example, the Tecno model T728 phone with a
battery spec. of 3.7V/1200mAh.

So, the best charger for a battery rated 4300mAh like the infinix Note 4 will  be between
5V/1800mAh-2002mAh [1.8Amps-2Amps]. So you must give attention to voltage and
amperage rating when buying your next charger.
Tecno T728

If you are the techy type like me, you could go ahead measuring the current supplied by
your charger using a professional multi-meter, oops! never mind though, as keeping with
the limits above is a safe zone to play around. Aright, lets I forget: never try cutting off the
head of your damaged charger and try to connect the charging cord directly to Ac power
source because the voltage output is between 110-220Volts and something around 13Amps
which is far higher than your phone’s charger output which could also send one to an early
grave! [laughs] So, doing that will only cause more damages right?

How To Check It Out

Before you trash the damaged charger, simply write down the charger Voltage/Amperage
rating you can find on the chargers base or side as a guide for buying the non official ones
just in case the official ones are out of reach.
