CYBER BULLYING

1. What springs to mind when you hear the word 'cyber - bullying'?
When I heard the word ‘cyber bullying’, I automatically thinking about an act of bullying
others but through digital technology. Cyber bullying as I have read at a web ‘common sense
media’, it is use digital communication tools such as internet, chat application, web or other
social media to make someone feel angry, sad or scared. Usually it happens again and again.
In general, cyber bullying has a negative impact on someone who gets it. Sometimes,
cyberbullying is a person sending a cruel text. But it can also be a group of persons posting
hurtful things about someone to other people.

2. What examples of cyber-bullying can you think of?

Examples of behavior that could be cyber-bullying are posting hurtful things about someone
on social media. As happened to the artist, there are some people who don't like them. Then
he/she spit out the artist's hunt in the past or spreading gossip about the artist. So there are
other people who also hate them. It is by provoking other people so they hate the person. It
happens a lot as there are many social media users
3. Why do cyber-bullies bully other people online?
According to the web that I have read on endcyberbullying.net, there are several reasons why
someone doing cyber bullying. There are because anonymity. Cyberbullying allows bullies to
avoid facing their victims, so it requires less courage and provides the illusion that bullies
won’t get caught. Then ignorance of the consequences. The National Council on Crime
Prevention reports that in a survey of teenagers, 81% said they believe others cyberbully
because they think it’s funny. Because they don’t see their victims’ reactions in person,
cyberbullies may not realize how much damage they are doing. The last is social pressure.
Some cyberbullies may think their behavior is normal and socially acceptable.
4. What can people do to stop cyber-bullying?
What a person can do to stop cyber bullying is to report it to the authorities because there is
already a law about ITE. Then we must realize that we are all human beings, can make
mistakes and can correct them. So that we don’t do actions that harm others. Starting from
ourself, spreading actions and positive things such as supporting others. So as not to knock
each other down. Protect and restore the victim's self-esteem. A quick decision can only make
things worse. Talk to someone about the problem before responding it.
5. How do you think cyber-bullying affects the life of those bullied?
According to a web that I have read on bullying.co.uk, cyber bullying give many bad effects
of those bullied. For many cyber bullying affects their everyday lives and is a constant source
of distress and worry. With mobile technology being so freely available it is an ongoing issue
and one that is relentless. Not only does it go on after school, college or work has finished,
but it then carries through into the next day and the cycle continues. It has been well
documented that cyber bullying has resulted in tragic events including suicide, and self-harm
and clearly, more needs to be done in order to protect vulnerable children and adults from
online bullying. So cyber bullying can affect the lives of its victims. It's very sad
