1 Scope
This specification together with the Purchase Order covers the minimum requirements
for male long sleeve shirt that is used by Industrial Security personnel. Shirts to this
specification are stocked by size under SAMS SAP Material Numbers .1000218928,
1000218972, 1000218976, 1000219032, 1000219039, 1000219175, 1000219211,
1000219258 and 1000219315.
2.1 Any conflicts between this specification and other applicable Saudi Aramco
Materials System Specifications (SAMSSs), Engineering Standards (SAESs),
Standard Drawings (SASDs), or industry standards, codes, and forms shall be
resolved in writing by the Company or Buyer Representative through the
General Manager, Industrial Security of Saudi Aramco, Dhahran.
2.2 Direct all requests to deviate from this specification in writing to the Company or
Buyer Representative, who shall follow internal company procedure SAEP-302
and forward such requests to the General Manager, Industrial Security of Saudi
Aramco, Dhahran.
2.3 If conflicts or deviations arise between this Specification and other Purchase
Order documents not specifically covered as exceptions by the Purchase Order,
the Buyer shall be consulted and a ruling shall be obtained by the manufacturer
in writing before work proceeds. Industrial Security reserves the right to review,
test and reject any manufacturer's uniform shirt before acceptance.

shall be considered part of this Specification to the extent specified herein and shall be the
latest issue (including all revisions, addenda, and supplements) unless stated otherwise.

4.1 Color
The color will be light beige with samples to be provided by Industrial Security.
4.3 Tailoring
All sewing shall be with dacron core cotton wrapped thread to match shirt
fabric.
All stitching will be specified per 25.4 mm. Minimum stitching will be 8 per
25.4 mm with a maximum of 12 stitches per 25.4 mm. Special stitch
information different from this will be individually described in the
specification. All seam allowances are to be maintained so that there are no raw
edges, run off, twist, pleats, puckers, loose threads or open seams. All seams are
to be secured by other seams and/or back tacked not less than 13 mm. Thread
breaks shall be over stitched at least 13 mm on either end of break.
The collar and cuffs are to be single stitched 6 mm from edge. The pockets and
flaps shall be single stitched on the edge.
4.4 Creasing
Pockets and pocket flaps to be die creased to give uniform shape and size.
4.5 Collar
The leaf shall be made of four pieces, two pieces of self- cloth, one whole lining
and one piece of strip lining which is to be fused to collar lining. Both pieces of
lining to be fused to top collar.
Permanent collar stays of proper length are to be sewn through bottom leaf. The
stand shall fasten with one button. Inner stand and inner yoke to be made of

matching 65% dacron polyester/35% combed cotton, 119.1 grams per 836 cm²
(4.2 oz per square yard) 106 x 58.
4.6 Sleeves
To be straight and whole. The cuffs are to be 73 mm in width and to fasten with
two buttons. The first button will be 19 mm from top of cuff and the next button
32 mm from the first button. Both buttons will be 10 mm from the cuff opening
and both button will have corresponding button holes. There is to be a single
stitch 11 mm from top of the cuff.
The sleeve opening shall measure 124 mm from top of cuff. The top facing for
this opening is to be 32 mm wide and the bottom facing to finish about 13 mm
wide. Button is to be placed on sleeve opening with corresponding buttonhole.
The button will be 62 mm from top of the cuff.
The sleeves must be secured to the body of the shirt by means of a merrow stitch
with a safety stitch so as to properly strengthen the stitch. The same stitch must
be used on the side closing seams as well.
4.7 Front
The front shall have a center facing 38 mm wide extending from the collar stand
to bottom of shirt and be made of the same material as shirt fabric with two rows
of stitching 6 mm.
The left front shall have seven (7) button holes 19 mm from edge. First at neck,
second 64 mm down, balance 89 mm apart.
The button stand, 22 mm wide, shall be self-lined and placed on right side
extending from collar stand to bottom of shirt. Buttons shall be securely
attached to the button stand and shall correspond to the buttonholes on the center
facing.
4.8 Back
There is to be yoke composed of an outer piece of the same material as the basic
shirt, and an inner piece of poplin.
4.9 Pockets
To have two breast pockets with mitred corners to finish 143 mm wide and
152 mm long. The left breast pocket to have a pencil compartment about 32 mm
wide. Both pockets to have 38 mm pleat stitched top and bottom to prevent
spreading.

The shoulder straps shall be pointed at the end toward the neck of the shirt. The
other end shall be sewn in sleeve head seam. The pointed ends shall be fastened
with one matching button. The straps shall measure 51 mm at sleeve and taper
to 35 mm. Straps to be set about 13 mm from the collar. Shoulder straps shall
be box stitched to shoulders with row of cross stitching 51 mm from sleeve head
seam.
Shirts to have five (5) permanent military creases, which are to be applied via a
pneumatically controlled application of silicon sealant, so as to give permanency
to the creases for the life of the garment. One crease in each front extending
from hem to joining seam. Three (3) vertical creases in back; middle crease on
center back line; side back creases spaced equally from center crease.
The collar stays shall be of good quality Stalar vinyl, 70 mm in length and
10 mm wide.
4.15 Interlining
Top center to be lined with 52 Pellon. Flaps to be 6800 crease and tack. Bands
and cuffs to be 3.75 weight mellopress.

4.16 Buttons
All buttons will be the 4 hole type and are to be made from thermo-setting
polyester material and shall match the color of the shirt. One additional button
will be furnished with each shirt and will be sewn at the bottom of the right
inside front.
4.17 Labeling
All shirts shall have a permanent label sewn to the inside of the shirt attached to
the yoke. The material for the label should be permanent to withstand repeated
washing for the life of the garment. The label should be made of soft material
and not irritating to the skin. The label should contain the following
information:
1. Manufacturer's name and country of origin.
2. Manufacturer's stock/lot number.
3. Neck size and sleeve length.
4. Complete care/washing instructions.
5. Blend.
6. Finishing.
A logo patch will be sewn on each sleeve. The patches will be sewn 25 mm
below shoulder seam. A copy of the logo patch is included in Attachment A.
The patch background will be dark brown and stitching color will be specified
by Industrial Security. A smaller logo patch with the same background and
stitching color will be sewn to the left pocket and will be centered under the
pocket flap. The manufacturer shall supply a sample of the patches to the Buyer
for approval.
Shirts shall be carefully pressed by hand in first class manner and individually packed in
polyethylene bags. Shirts to be shipped in strong boxes so as not to be damaged in
shipment. Shirts to be packed four to a box with sizes marked on the outside of the box
at the one end.
Pattern specifications, sizes and associated SAP Material Numbers are shown in Table 1.

7 Inspection
Inspection of Shirts will be performed by the Buyer's representative per Saudi Aramco
Inspection Requirements Form 175-, attached to the Purchase Order. This inspection
will verify that all requirements of this specifications are met.
