CONDITIONALS REAL WITH THE PRESENT (ZERO CONDITIONAL)


The zero conditional is used to talk about:

• things that always happen


Facts and behavior which don´t change.
• things that happen the same way every
time.

PRESENT SIMPLE

1. Command Stand up!


(no subject) Sit down!
Be quiet!

Negative (command) Don’t leave the car


Don´t ………. Don´t open the door!

2. Present Simple You pass the semester


Aff: S+V+C You get wet
You get tired
You get burned

Neg.: S+V+C You don´t leave the car


(To be) Neg.: S+V+C She isn’t at home
3. Present Continous If it is raining, I don´t go out.

Aff: S+TO BE + V- If it is snowing, I wear a coat.


ING+C
Neg: S + TO BE + NOT If it isn’t snowing, I wear a coat.
+ V-ING + C

Example Sentences
Command If I am late for dinner, start eating without me.
If he is available, ask him to call me.
If he gets there before me, ask him to wait.

Negative command If the pan is hot, don´t touch it.


If I am late to presentation, don’t wait for me.

Present Simple (Aff.) If you don´t get your key, you stayout
Baby wakes up if we make too much noise.
If people eat too much, thet get fat fastly.

Present Simple (Neg) If you don´t study, you fail the semester
If you don´t sleep , you forget things

Present Continous (Aff) If it is raining, I don´t go out.

If it is snowing, I wear a coat.


If it is not raining, I go shopping.
If it is not snowing, I wear light clothes.
