1.What common actions are being shown on the different Year, given its
progress, Identify 5 movements and give its name term or actions
1. 1908 - Horizontal Bars Cast Handstand
To do a handstand, hold yourself up on the bar and lean forward, over the
bar a bit. Swing your legs forward for momentum and then back behind
you, using your stomach and arm muscles to left your legs over your head
into a handstand position. Your head should be parallel with your ears
and your eyes looking at the bar below you.
2. 1924 - Pommel Horse Circles Mushroom
To do this drill, the gymnast must first place their hands on the horizontal
line across the mushroom. During the performance the athlete should not
change this position of their hands. They should start in front support with
their shoulders leaned slightly forward. They should face their hands
forward with their fingers spread for better support. Next, they should step
to the side opposite of their desired circle direction. The athlete does this
opposite move, jumps in the desired direction, and closes their legs to
start the circle. The entire circle should be performed with a completely
straight body.
3. 1972 - Balance Beam Back Walkover
The back walkover performer begins in a standing position. The back is
increasingly arched and abdominal muscles are stretched until the hands
touch the floor and all hands and feet are flat on the floor, thus forming a
gymnastic back bridge. While in the bridge position, one leg
(the leading leg) is rapidly raised from the floor so as to impart momentum
to the lower body. This momentum lifts the trailing leg from the floor so
that only the hands are left touching the floor. Both hands remain on the
floor while the body revolves backward through a handstand position, until
the foot of the leading leg, followed by the foot of the trailing leg, reach the
floor. When both feet are on the floor, the performer returns to an erect
standing position.
4. 1976 - Uneven bars Comăneci salto
To perform a Comăneci salto, the gymnast begins in a support position on
the high bar and, casting away from it, performs a straddled
front somersault, regrasping the same bar.
5. 2000 - Trampoline Adolph
A single front somersault with three and a half twists

2. What are the Relevance of this Gymnastics to our lives today?

Perhaps, It would be harder for most normal people to execute
gymnastics. We aren’t as flexible and as strong as those athletes however,
we can apply the principle of flexibility that’s in gymnastics in our daily lives.
We see how gymnasts value flexibility in their sport and thus, we too should
see its importance even in the daily actions we perform. For a example, one
principle of flexibility is progressive overload, we can stretch our bodies with
progressive difficulty during exercise to maintain our body’s flexibility to be
able to perform our daily tasks easily and also maintain our body’s condition.
3 .List 5 educational impact of the video that is essential from the very
beginning, down to now, our PRESENT.
1. Evolution of Female sports - As we have seen on the video, it wasn’t
until 1928 when women are able to finally take part in the Gymnastics
event of the Olympics. It is a big step for women empowerment to be able
to compete in this sport since women wasn’t really regarded as capable in
joining these kinds of events before.
2. Evolution of techniques and drills - As years progressed, techniques
and drills become more complicated and advanced. We can see that in
the video how a simple move becomes more complicated overtime that’s
the result of progress in the sport and how it gained more components
and events.
3. Gymnastics is a sport of elegance and strength - we have witnessed
how elegance is shown off in the different gymnastic events but alongside
elegance, these athletes also show off incredible strength. Who could’ve
thought that these two components can work alongside each other this
makes gymnastics unique.
4. The Principle of Flexibility and Coordination - Throughout the video, we
have seen how flexibility is executed in different forms and along with
flexibility we can also see how coordination is also present. These two are
very notable when we watch gymnastic events.
5. Gymnastics is one of the oldest sport in the Olympics - The video
stated that there were four sports in the Olympics and one of them is
gymnastics, this shows us how this sport is still in existence until now ever
since the earlier days of Olympics. This is a sport well preserved and
passed on as time had progressed.
