1. Introduction
The documents needed by the inspector for desk study prior to the inspection
may include the relevant as-built drawings, specification, shop drawings, mock-
ups, installation records and Method Statement.
2. Inspection Procedure
The checklists provided are to be used as a guide and may be revised based
on actual site conditions for installation of proprietary ceiling systems, i.e. using
the actual drawings, specification and Method Statement as reference.

14. Plasterboard: Furring channel spacing:
i. 9.5 mm Standard core 450 mm ctrs max
ii. 9.5 mm Unispan 600 mm ctrs max
iii. 12.5 mm Standard core 600 mm ctrs max
15. If furring channel must be joined:
i. furring channel joiners must be used.
ii. furring channel joints must be staggered.
16. Fixing plasterboard to a concealed ceiling system:
i. butt joints must be centred on furring channel.
ii. butt joints must be staggered.
iii. plasterboard is to be fixed using 25 mm bugle head
needle point type ‘S’ screws.
iv. screw spacing for butt joints are at 200 mm max centres.
v. screw spacing in the middle of the board are at 300 mm
centres.
