Utilitarian Art

Art may be classified into two.

 Major Arts being the Fine art
 Minor Arts being the Utilitarian or Practical Arts.

Arts and Sciences

Science = art. They are the same thing. Both science and art are human attempts to understand and describe the
world around us. The subjects and methods have different traditions, and the intended audiences are different, but I think
the motivations and goals are fundamentally the same.
Traditionally, art and science have been treated as two separate disciplines, but when they are studied together it's
clear to see the impact one has on the other. A great deal of creativity is required to make scientific breakthroughs, and art
is just as often an expression of (or a product of) scientific knowledge.
There are two paramount differences between art and science. The first is that art is subjective while science is
objective. The second is that art expresses knowledge, most often in the form of subjective representation, while science is
the system of acquiring knowledge.

content or statement. An example is electric wire emerging from the wall that coils to form a particular shape.
8. Video Art
 consists of images that are recorded through a video and viewed through television, computer, or projection
screen.
9. Graffiti Art

Materials used in Contemporary Art

Skills, techniques and production in contemporary art
Many contemporary artists do not have formal studies in the fine arts but are self-taught. Concerned with the
development of their talents and skills in art-making, they study on their own, interact with artists, and read a lot about the
lives of artists and their artworks. They also explore the materials in hardware stores or experiment with chemical
reactions on their base material.
There are those who learn welding and simple engineering skills. Some hire resin makers, house painters, and
materials fabricators to help them in constructing their artworks.
The Grid by Ohm David

he created.

Different Types Of Techniques That Artists Can Choose From

cloths, strings, etc. to a flat surface to create a thick layer that is almost like a relief sculpture.
2. Decalcomania

flat materials.
3. Montage
 used for photography or film where a pictorial image is juxtaposed or placed overlapping to make another picture
