The report provides test results for a complete blood count, liver function tests, and blood chemistry for a 76-year-old female patient. Most results are within normal ranges except for an elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate.

Based on the test results, the patient has anemia as indicated by a low hemoglobin level. The elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate also suggests an inflammatory condition is present.

A complete blood count was performed to assess blood cell levels and types. Liver function tests were also done to evaluate liver enzyme levels and function. These can help diagnose conditions affecting the liver or other organs.

LFT - INTERPRETATION
The liver is a complex organ which performs many metabolic functions. More than hundred measures of hepatic function have
been based on hundreds of reactions that have been shown to occur in the liver .
A few tests have been found to be clinically useful.

Specimen Serum

1.Total serum bilirubin is useful in evaluating the depth and progress of jaundice. Direct and indirect measurements have
been of some value in the differential diagnosis of jaundice .
2.The levels of alkaline phosphatase -ALP ,AST ( SGOT ) ALT ( SGPT ) , GGTP are individually helpful in the differential
diagnosis of hepatic disease. Their diagnostic usefulness is enhanced by observing the patterns of abnormality obtained
by measuring these levels.
3.A number of plasma proteins are formed in the liver, accordingly changes in the plasma or serum proteins form the basis
for important laboratory aids to the diagnosis of hepatic disease
4.Liver Function Test are useful for the diagnosis of hepatic disease and specifically for D/D of jaundice,
hepatomegaly, ascites and GIT haemorrhage some extrahepatic diseases etc. .
