WITH TITLE

Summary: This imaginary holiday activity

practises the correct use of will / won’t be
able to.

Before the lesson

Download one set of cards. Download six
GRAMMAR TEACHER’S NOTES

worksheets. Cut up the cards.

Procedure
1. Divide your class into six teams.

2. Give each team a card and a worksheet.

3. When you say, ‘Go!’, each team should look

at the situation on the card. Set a time limit,
e.g. five minutes.

4. The students in each team should work together

to complete the worksheet with as many sentences
as possible, e.g., if they have the beach holiday card,
they can say, ‘I will be able to swim.’, ‘I won’t be able
to make a snowman.’

5. When teams have finished, get each team to read

their sentences to the class, but without saying which
holiday was on their card. The other teams must try
to guess.
