Sampling Procedure in Quantitative Research

MODULE 3

ACTIVITY A
1. Population is a collective term for all individuals belonging to the same group or
species that live in the same geographic region and are capable of interbreeding.

2. Sample is refers to a smaller, easier-to-manage subset of a wider category. It's a

subset of a general population with similar characteristics.

3. An accurate sample size means the number of participants or findings used in a

survey is referred to as sample size.

4. Sampling frame is used for A sampling frame is a list or other instrument that a
study uses to identify the population of interest to them.

5. Slovin’s formula is used to Slovins' algorithm is used to determine the right

sample size from a population. Statistics is a method of examining a population's
actions by the use of a questionnaire. Because of resources or time constraints, it
is normally impractical to sample any member of a society.

ACTIVITY B

ACTIVITY C
1. My intended population is (tell who and how many)

Since a population usually includes too many people to research effectively,

an investigation is usually limited to one or two samples taken from it.

2. My intended sample consist of (tell how many)

A survey can only be genuinely useful if it is accurate and inclusive of the

business. Choosing the right survey sample size and population, on the other
hand, can be difficult.

3. The characteristics of my samples are (tell the demographic profile such

As age range, gender, etc.)

The representativeness and predictive strength of gender inequality should

be known. Consider a sample undertaken at a small college of 1,000 students in
which the gender classes at the college are very unequally distributed.

4. The type of research that I intended to conduct is (explain)

Research entails delving deeply into a topic or issue in order to generate

new ideas about it.

5. I will obtain my sample size using

The word "sample size" is often used in analytics and market analysis, and
it's something that still pops up when you're surveying a big group of people. It
has to do with how large-scale analysis is carried out.

6. I plan to select my samples from my target population using (tell the

Sampling technique)

Surveys’ would be useless and incomplete if they didn't account for the
people who fill them out. The most successful survey design strategies hold the
target audience at the forefront of their minds.
WRAP–UP
It is important that the researchers know the (1) sample size of their study. It is a
waste of resources if the researchers include all the (2) elements in their target
(3) population. Using (4) sample saves (5) time compared to complete (6) census.
It also saves money because it is less (7) costly. It allows more particular attention
to be given to a number of elements than doing a census thus less sampling (8)
error in survey. In order to have an accurate sample size, (9) slovin’s formula was
used.

VALUING
• If you are the seller, do you agree with free tasting/testing?

Through creating a product and testing it, you'll be able to see if there's a
need for it, if it's something you can replicate on a larger scale, if it's something
you can bundle, sell, and deliver, in other words, if it has a chance of commercial
success.

• How are you going to react with such kind of customers?

In my experience, when I really focus on and value the things that positive
word of mouth does for my brand either this blog or any of the successful
businesses I’ve co-founded that word-of-mouth buzz tends to increase.

• How will you apply it as you conduct quantitative research?

Quantitative analysis is used to create a connection between two variables,

known as the independent and dependent variables. In quantitative analysis,
there are two types of research designs: descriptive and experimental. A
descriptive quantitative research study aims to find a connection between two
variables, while an experimental quantitative research study aims to find
causality.
