10 . Explanation text
Have you ever wondered how people get chocolate from? In this article we’ll enter the amazing
world of chocolate so you can understand exactly what you’re eating.
Chocolate starts with a tree called the cacao tree. This tree grows in equatorial regions,
especially in places such as South America, Africa, and Indonesia. The cacao tree produces a
fruit about the size of a small pine apple. Inside the fruit are the tree’s seeds, also known as
cocoa beans.
The beans are fermented for about a week, dried in the sun and then shipped to the chocolate
maker. The chocolate maker starts by roasting the beans to bring out the flavour. Different
beans from different places have different qualities and flavor, so they are often sorted and
blended to produce a distinctive mix. Next, the roasted beans are winnowed. Winnowing
removes the meat nib of the cacao bean from its shell. Then, the nibs are blended. The blended
nibs are ground to make it a liquid. The liquid is called chocolate liquor. It tastes bitter. All seeds
contain some amount of fat, and cacao beans are not different. However, cacao beans are half
fat, which is why the ground nibs form liquid. It’s pure bitter chocolate.

Song
Do you still remember
How we used to be
Felling together, believe in whatever
My love has said to me
Both of us were dreamers
Young love in the sun
Felt like my savior, my spirit I gave ya
We’d only just begun

Hasta Manana,
Always be mine

[Chorus:]
Viva forever, I’ll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live forever,
For the moment
Ever searching for the one
Yes I still remember,
Every whispered word
The touch of your skin, giving life from within
Like a love song that I’d heard
Slipping through out fingers,
Like the sands of time
Promise made, every memory saved
Has reflections in my mind

Hasta Manana,
Always be mine

[Chorus]
Back where I belong now,
Was it just a dream
Feelings unfold, they will never be sold
And the secret’s safe with me

Hasta manana,
Always be mine
[Chorus x2]

School uniform is special clothes worn by all students of a particular school. The uniform of a
school may differ from others. Why should schools use uniforms? Below are some reasons.
First of all, Notre Dame’s Department of Sociology produced a study in 1998 concerning school
uniforms. Their findings using 10th grade students showed that uniforms have no direct effect on
“substance abuse, behavioral problems or attendancE.” It also claimed a negative effect on
student achievements for those students considered ‘pro-school’.
Secondly, uniform helps to create a strong sense school ethos ....... a sense of belonging to a
particular community. As such it promotes discipline and helps to drive up academic standards,
which is why a uniform is often adopted by schools which are being reopened with a fresh start
after being classified as failing.
Finally, uniform acts as a social leveler, under which all students are equal in the eyes of the
school and of each other. In institutions without uniform students are often competitive and
worry endlessly about their appearance and the clothes they should wear. Pupils without
expensive designer clothes and trainers may be singled out as social outcasts, or stigmatized as
being from poor backgrounds. For these reasons many parents prefer uniforms as they save them
money on buying clothes for school wear. Considering the findings, schools should implement
the uniform as their identity. The government should also publish some kind of rule which makes
uniform compulsory for schools

Auroras are luminous atmospheric phenomena in the night sky that occur most frequently in high
latitudes of both hemispheres. They are categorized specifically according to their location.
Auroras in the Northern Hemisphere are called the northern lights (aurora borealis), and in the
Southern Hemisphere, auroras are called the southern lights (aurora australis). Auroras are
caused by the sun, but they are not sunlight. In addition to light, the sun also sends out
electrically charged particles stream of electrons and protons, called the solar wind. This stream
of particles travels from the sun towards the Earth at high speed.
The earth is surrounded by a magnetic field, consisting of north and south magnetic poles. These
magnetic poles are not the same as the North and South poles. As the charged particles in the
solar wind penetrate the earth’s magnetosphere and enter the lower Van Allen radiation belt, the
earth magnetic field deflects it to the magnetic poles. Then they collide with gas molecules,
mostly oxygen and nitrogen, in the atmosphere. These collisions cause them to emit visible light
at various wavelengths, creating the colors of the aurora. Because the light of auroras is not
strong enough, they are generally only visible at night.

On 10 November, Indonesia celebrates Hari Pahlawan or Heroes Day in
remembrance of the Battle of Surabaya which started on that very date in the
year 1945. The bloody battle took place because Indonesians refused to
surrender their weaponry to British army. British Army at that time was part of
the Allied Forces. The defiant Bung Tomo is the well-known revolutionary
leader who played a very important role in this battle.
It all started because of a misunderstanding between British troops in Jakarta
and those in Surabaya, under the command of Brigadier A.W.WS. Mallaby.
Brigadier Mallaby already had an agreement with Governor of East Java Mr.
Surya. The agreement stated that British would not ask Indonesian troops and
militia to surrender their weapons.
However, a British plane from Jakarta dropped leaflets all over Surabaya. The
leaflet told Indonesians to do otherwise on 27 October 1945. This action
angered the Indonesian troops and militia leaders because they felt betrayed.
On 30 October 1945, Brigadier Mallaby was killed as he was approaching the
British troops' post near Jembatan Merah or Red Bridge, Surabaya. There
were many reports about the death, but it was widely believed that the
Brigadier was murdered by Indonesian militia. Looking at this situation,
Lieutenant General Sir Philip Christison brought in einforcements to siege the
city.
In the early morning of 10 November 1945, British troops began to advance
into Surabaya with cover from both naval and air bombardment. Although the
Indonesians defended the city heroically, the city was conquered within 3 days
and the whole battle lasted for 3 weeks. In total, between 6,000 and 16,000
Indonesians died while casualties on the British side were about 600 to 2000.
Battle of Surabaya caused Indonesia to lose weaponry which hampered the
country's independence struggle. However, the battle provoked Indonesian
and international mass to rally for the country's independence which made this
battle especially important for Indonesian national revolution.
