The delegate of South Korea suggests that lockdowns should not be implemented regularly but could be done once a year to allow the environment to heal with little pollution. Annual lockdowns would also reduce unemployment by not stopping economies for long periods. Other nations could be inspired by South Korea's successful methods of mass tracing, containment, and treatment to curb the spread of Covid-19 such as installing temperature scanning bus shelters.

Thank you chair for recognizing the delegate of South Korea.
Good afternoon to the eb and my fellow delegates. The
delegate of South Korea would now like to talk about the agenda, whether the lockdown should be continued on a regular basis or not. The delegate of South Korea suggests that the lockdown, should not be implemented very often, but it can be done once a year, in order to protect and conserve the environment. This can benefit countries in many ways. Firstly, Mother Nature can heal itself, and there will be very little pollution for the particular time that the lockdown is implemented. Secondly, the economies around the world will not have to stop for a longer time. Unemployment will be reduced as the economies can get back to track. This was the opinion of South Korea on the issue, whether the lockdown should be continued on a regular basis. Also, other nations can get inspired by the steps taken by the South Korean government to deal with the global outbreak. The steps taken were: Mass tracing, containment and treatment. Determined to curb the spread of Covid-19, authorities in the South Korean capital of Seoul have installed a series of glass-paneled bus shelters that scan the temperature of commuters and refuse entry to anyone detected to have a fever. Ten solar-powered shelters have been set up along major bus routes. This was an example of mass tracing. With this statement, the delegate of South Korea would like to end his speech.
