    Evaluation Report on Variation of Contract: Repair of Shanthi Sewana Ward Complex


    at Saliyapura Elders Home

    This has reference to contract variation documents pertaining to the above. The observations
    and recommendation of the TEC are as follows.

    1. SCOPE
    Examination and recommendation to the Procurement Committee on contract variation order
    of Repair works shanthi sewana ward complex at saliyapura elders home.

    2. TYPE OF CONTRACT
    Measure & Pay

    3. CONTRACT VALUE
    Initial Contract Price: RS. 10,709,357.14

    4. TYPE & AMOUNT OF VARIATION

    4.1 Quantity Variation in the BOQ = Rs. 1,195,443.30


    Annexture-01 attached herewith indicates the summery of variation in BOQ with reasons for
    excess work done. It was observed that the variation due to several reasons as stated by the
    respective technical officer’s statement attached here to. In repair works unseen works may
    have to carry out during the construction works. In view of above, TEC recommends quantity
    variation.
    4.2 Change of Scope = Rs. 1557579.77
    Annexture-01 attached herewith indicates the summery of variations due to change of scope
    with reasons. It was observed that the variation due to change of scope was involved. The
    rates applied for all extra works are approved rate of the province. TEC considered all the
    extra work items and above items are necessary for the successful completion of this works
    and hence justifiable.

    5 SUMMARY

    Therefore, it is required to provide additional allocation of Rs. 2,753,023.08 for this work for
    executing these variations as the original sanctioned amount is exceeded by the said amount.

    6 RECOMMENDATIONS

    In view of above, TEC recommends the variation to contract of Repair works shanthi sewana
    ward complex at saliyapura elders home amounting to aggregate variation Rs. 2,753,023.08
