1 SCOPE
The Vendor shall furnish complete and operational Slurry Sampling Systems including
all necessary accessories, but exclude work listed in Section 2. All equipment items
are for the Toromocho Project, property of Minera Chinalco Peru S.A., located in
central Peru in the Morococha mining district.
The Vendor shall furnish drawings, data and descriptive information in the detail and
quantity required by this specification and its attachments.
The Vendor's scope of supply shall include, but is not limited to, items in the
following list:

Design shall comply with all standards and codes stated in this specification and
attached documents (see Appendix A - Standard Technical and Site Data), and local
laws, ordinances and regulations.
In the event of difference between codes and/or standards, the most stringent code or
standard shall apply. Whenever reference is made in an Equipment Specification to a
specific code or standard, it shall be understood that the latest edition of such
reference, as of the date of proposal, shall govern.
Site data and general engineering requirements are specified in Appendix A (Standard
Technical and Site Data).
Operating and design conditions and requirements are specified in the attachment titled
Data Sheet A - Operating and Design Conditions.
The equipments will be installed outdoors. The plant site is located at elevations
between approximately 4540 m and 5000 m above mean sea level. Equipment shall
be de-rated, as appropriate, for continuous operation at these elevations.
The Vendor is strongly advised to pay special attention to the site’s high altitude effect
on electrical equipment. The reduced cooling / dielectric capabilities of the air at this
altitude adversely affect operating temperature, insulation, continuous current, spacing
between components and BIL.
The equipments shall be designed for a minimum 25 years life expectancy, based on
continuous operation (24 hours per day, 7 days per week).
All samplers shall have ANSI B16.5 Class 150 process pipe connections.
For each Sampler the Vendor shall evaluate the stream fraction necessary for obtaining
a representative sample.

5 EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
5.1 GENERAL
The Vendor shall select the appropriate type of samplers and analyzers for each
item in the scope of supply.
Where appropriate, the primary sampler shall cut at pre-selected time intervals
and deliver the samples directly to the secondary sampler (and tertiary sampler
if necessary).
The primary sampler shall include a reset timer that allows regulation of the
sampling frequency over a range of 0 to 20 minutes.
The Bulk Flotation Feed Samplers (220-SA-001 to 004) shall be supplied with
static screens, if appropriate. The screens shall have provisions for easy
removal of trash and tramp oversize.
The Vendor shall minimize variety of design, type and material for the
equipment.

The Vendor shall note that fuel oil is used as a reagent in the process and
provide appropriate lining as required.
For 900 mm and above cutter travel, the primary sampler carriage assembly
shall be complete with four flanged wheels equipped with dual tapered roller
bearings and be powered by an air cylinder or by motor-reducer and chain
system as an alternative option.
The sample cutter shall be complete with adjustable and replaceable blades,
drip ring to prevent sample contamination and a discharge pipe large enough to
assure free flow of material through the cutter.
The samplers shall be of the continuous rotary (Vezin) type with timer control,
complete with water tight housing, drive gear, motor and accessories. The unit
shall have a removable cover on the housing and inspection door(s).

The samplers shall be of the continuous grab sample type for in-line installation
in gravity flowing pipes. Sampler cutter adjustment and / or replacement shall
be possible without stopping the process flow.
The samplers shall be of the continuous grab sample type for vertical in-line
installation near a pump discharge.
The on-stream analyzers shall be for continuous analysis for Cu, Mo, Fe, Ag
and As metallurgical component of slurry. The data in the following table may
serve to establish the measurement range for each component.
The analyzers will be furnished complete with all controls and instrumentation,
including control panel(s) as required for controlling and monitoring the status or
condition of the equipment. All systems requiring protection will be provided with
sensory devices to initiate alarms and, when required, provide automatic
shutdown of equipment.

All motors for the Toromocho Project will be bought from a single motor
manufacturer, WEG. Selected equipment suppliers will be directed to purchase
the motors from WEG. All motors shall be specified to develop their rated power
according to mechanical requirements and WEG will design and de-rate the
motors to work at the site conditions.
Equipment vendors shall use the pricing agreement to establish individual motor
prices.
The Bidder shall complete a Form 000-MS-M-118 Motor Specification Sheet for
every motor. The sheet(s) shall be updated by the Vendor as necessary.
Equipment shall be furnished complete with all controls and instrumentation required to
control and monitor the status or condition of the equipment.

Control system design, components and accessories shall be in compliance with the
requirements of Appendix A and Specification Package Equipment – Instrumentation.
Instrumentation and controls furnished shall include, but not be limited to the following:
All instruments and control panels shall be weatherproof, dust-tight and corrosion
resistant and / or be mounted in an IP66, NEMA 4X enclosure or equivalent.
7.1 PAINTING
All surfaces to be painted shall be thoroughly cleaned and free of all dirt, rust,
grease, weld spatter and loose mill scale, and shall be painted with
manufacturer’s standard chemical resistant prime and finish coats.
Machined surfaces not normally painted shall be coated with a suitable anti-
corrosion compound to protect surfaces during ocean shipment and outside
storage at jobsite. The compound shall be such that it can be easily cleaned or
removed with solvent.
Vendor shall provide sufficient finish coat paint for field touch-up.

7.3 TESTING
Prior to preparation for shipping, the equipment shall be assembled and tested
in accordance with the manufacturer’s conditions which will warrant the
equipment’s performance upon proper assembly at the job site. The Vendor
shall notify the Buyer ten days in advance of the above scheduled tests. An
authorized representative of the Buyer shall have free entry to observe all tests
while they are in progress.
When applicable, the Vendor shall adequately prepare all components for
export shipment, recognizing the requirements for inland transport, stevedore
handling, and marine transport.
All openings in the equipment shall be sealed to exclude foreign matter during
shipment. Flanges shall be provided with wooden covers bolted in place in
order to protect the flange face.
All items shall be provided with adequate lifting lugs to facilitate unloading and
handling prior to erection and shall be properly braced and supported for
handling and shipment. Lugs shall be painted yellow.
All instruments, whether mounted on the equipment or shipped loose, shall have
a stamped 316 stainless steel tag firmly attached by stainless steel wire. Refer
to General Specification 000-GD-I-011 for tag details.
All equipment shall have a permanent stamped 316 stainless steel nameplate
attached that contains all pertinent identification and size information.
Identification shown shall include the Aker Solutions /Owner Purchase Order
Number and Equipment Number (Tag No.).

All instruments and measuring devices required for the test-run will be provided
by the Owner. The list of all required instruments and measuring devices shall
be provided by the Vendor within 90 days after placement of purchase order.
The Vendor shall review Owner’s equipment layout drawings and advise
location of any necessary test stations and other facilities.
Operating personnel for the performance guarantee test run will be provided by
the Owner. All other costs associated with the test run as well as the costs of
any modifications required to achieve the performance guarantee values shall
be borne by the Vendor.
