Singing Contest Mechanics

VOCAL SOLO & VOCAL DUET
1. The contest is open to all ___________________.
2. Contestant in a specific category can’t join another category.
3. Each contestant has the chance to choose gospel song of his/her choice.
4. Guidelines for participants and audience:
a. Contestants must be in proper attire.
b. Props (body or hand) are not allowed for use.
c. Official microphones provided by the committee shall be used.
d. Audience must refrain from coaching to avoid deduction.
e. Audience must refrain from applause until all participants are done.
5. Criteria for judging
Voice Quality 50%

(Vocal intonation and projection, accuracy of pitch, tone color)
Diction, Timing and Dynamics 15%
(color of vowels, proper emphasis or accent on the words, softness and
loudness, rhythm)
Musicality 10%
(appropriateness of the chosen song to the voice of the singer and his/her
style)
Breathing and Phrasing 10%
(correct cutting of lines, legato, staccato)
Interpretation and stage presence 15%
(facial expression, proper focus and attire)
Total 100%
6. Each contestant shall be given a number to determine the sequence of performance.
7. Accompaniment music on mobile phone or Karaoke songs must be given to Shadrach Crisostomo 2 hours before the contest proper.
8. Contestants must coordinate with Shadrach Crisostomo for concerns related to the event.
9. Winners shall be ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and shall receive certificate and monetary prize.

Group Dance Mechanics

1. The contest is open to all ___________________.
2. Each group shall be composed of a minimum of 2 and maximum of 3 dancers. Members of the groups may be composed of all males or
females, or any combination thereof. Three (3) points are deducted if there are excess or deficient in number of participants.
3. The group must be at the contest area on time. Failure to come on time will receive 1 point deduction to the total score.
4. Order of performances will be based on the number they had picked prior to the contest.
5. Group must bring the music of their choice in a pen drive, no live band or musicians allowed. It should be submitted 2 hours prior to the event
c/o Shadrach Crisostomo. There should be a back-up copy in case the submitted music fails to play.
6. The music must mot more than five (5) minutes. Any excess in time will have 1 point deduction/min to the total score.
7. Use of props will be allowed as long as it will not cause any delay in the program and any harm to the performance of other groups.
8. Appropriate clothing should be observed throughout the competition.
