ACTUALIZE ‘INDONESIA EMAS 2045’
Hello everyone, I give my warmest regards to the respected judges and viewers
who are currently watching through the screen. My name is Evelin Theresia
Tampubolon and I am a student from the University of North Sumatra.
First and foremost, all praises be to God because of his power we can all still be
here, and I am grateful that I have been given the opportunity to be able to join as
a speech contest participants in the English Festival 2021 with the theme ”
Revitalizing National Progress amidst the Pandemic in Order to Realize
‘Indonesia Emas 2045’ ”.
Ladies and Gentlemen
The red of blood is a sign of spirit that never down and white is a strong spirit that
always struggles. Thousands laid down their lives so that our country, Indonesia,
can have independence day and celebrate it like just a few days ago the whole
Indonesian nation celebrates.
That's what happened in the past, so what will happen in the future? Have you
ever wondered what will happen to our beloved country in the future? in 20/30
years? Or maybe there are those who don't care about the fate of Indonesia?
Hopefully there isn't. If so, allow me to provide this information regarding events
that are expected to occur in the future and have a major impact on the life of this
country.
Demography bonus. As a result of the birth explosion which is estimated to

explode during the pandemic, later in Indonesia's 100th year, precisely in 2045,
Indonesia will be in a condition where 70% of Indonesia's population will be on
productive age (15-60 years), this condition is called the demographic bonus. The
question is, will this have a positive or negative impact? The answer is it depends.
It depends on us. people who live in the present. This could be a chance, a
challenge, or even a disaster in the future.
As Indonesian citizens, of course we must take Actions that produce the best
results. Therefore, those of us who are aware and have the intention to make
Indonesia a better country must do something to realize “Indonesia Emas 2045”
through the future generations.
But before that, realizing it will be very difficult if we don't leave the point of
view or mindset that comes from the past. Look at it from the point of view and
use the mindset of today's era or you could say modern era.
Technology will be increasingly sophisticated and increasingly play an important

role in human life. In the midst of a pandemic, the need and use of technology is
increasing rapidly and the internet seems like a new breath of life. By being able
to take advantage of technology as best as possible, it will certainly help us in the
midst of a pandemic.
Nadiem Makarim, the Indonesian Minister of Education, once said: ' Technology
is a tool, just a tool. Not everything, the quality of learning in the classroom, the
interaction between teachers and students is the essence'
In order to realize “Indonesia Emas 2045” apart from the mindset/point of view,
the next thing that must be discussed is education. I quote a quote from nelson
mandela 'Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the
world'. I also believe that with education, Indonesia can become more advanced.
Now, what kind of education ?
The first thing is higher quality education. During this time of the spread of
COVID-19, the government and schools must provide a curriculum and education
system that is appropriate for the current situation, as well as teachers who can
carry out their duties in educating children even via online.
Another point is focus on pre-primary school and elementary school level

education. The targeted generation in creating “Indonesia Emas 2045” are those
who are currently very young and even those who have just been born. Therefore,
the first level of education received by children, the first place where they can
learn and interact with their peers is very important.
Moreover, Optimizing Character Education. The progress of the times cannot be

dealt with only intellectual, but good character will be the capital of one's success
in going through the times. School and home are places that play a big role of this.
And for the last, education in the family. Realizing the golden generation cannot
only be done by the school or the government. Families, especially parents, must
understand that every child has the potential to become a golden generation.
Especially because of this COVID-19, parents have many opportunities to teach
and play with them. Creating a golden generation of children, parents have many
roles, from teaching manners, forming good character at home, providing quality
education from an early age, not just choosing the school because it is close and
does not care about quality. But choose the school because they have found out
and believe that the school is able to provide good education both in terms of
intellectual and personal character.
Maybe there will be many obstacles to be able to realize "Indonesia Emas 2045"
especially during this. However, all related parties must try their best so that our
country avoids bad effects, demographic bonus.
So let's try our best, together to realize "Indonesia Emas 2045" starting from now
in the midst of a pandemic. if not us who else, if not now when? Alright, this
brings me to the end of my speech. I hope we can take a lessons from what I
deliver today and make us care more about the future of our country. I ask
forgiveness for any words or behave that are not proper in everyone's heart, and
let me tell a rhyme that I made myself as a closing.
