VOYAGE PLAN
When working out the voyage/ passage plan, the responsible officer should:
1. Work out the plan for the worst possible scenario (restricted visibility, change of navigational marks, M/E failure, ….…), so for all possible emergency situations
2. Observe safe clearances for passing hazards to navigation, obstructions (observe carefully the weather conditions, suction effect)
3. Consider clearances to starboard side of fairway for collision avoidance action
4. Bear in mind maneuvering restrictions in relation to the ship’s condition, turning circle time, etc
5. Check if all possible information related to safe passage is at hand and available
The relevant information stated in this ‘Voyage/ Passage Plan’ must be marked also in the Deck Log Book
