The documentary made me realize a lot of things such as how lucky and grateful
I should be for my current situation. From shelter, privileges, freedom, to my Family, and
to a lot of things to be thankful of. I always knew that an illegal immigration exists, but I
never thought for people at young age to be able to experience this kind of situation.
The saddest part is they know how risky and dangerous it would be for them, with the
murder rates and with the immigration officers, but it did not stop them because they
know that they do not have a choice. It is like a ride or die situation. Flee to other
country despite the danger you might face or die in your own country with all the gang
related activities.
What I observed in the video is that they seem to think that the solution to their
problem is migrating to other country specifically USA, but in my perspective, their
government is partly to be blame, gang activities seem to be increasing as well as
murder rates in their neighborhood, to the point that incidents such as sex slaves and
dead bodies seems to be normal to them. The teenagers grew up always feeling scared
due to this gang activities, where a parent is even willing to send his own son to migrate
in other country because gangs are recruiting young people. It shows how they do not
rely anymore to their own government. They were promise protection but ended going
into hiding.
