An institute offers two courses, A and B. Number of participants for course A is x and number of participants for
course B is y. Enrollment of the participants follows the constraints below:

I Maximum participants is 80.

II Number of participants for course B is at least 10.

III Number of participants for course B at most times number of participants for course A.

(a) Write three inequalities, excluding x ≥ 0 and y ≥ 0 which satisfies the above constraints. (3 marks)

(b) Using scale 2cm to 10 participants at both axes, construct and shade the region that satisfies all the
constraints above. (3 marks)

(c) By using the graph, find

(i) Minimum number of participants for course A.


(ii) Maximum total fees per month of the institute if monthly fees for participants for course A is
RM 300 and for participants for course B is RM 400 (4 marks)
