ABSTRACT-
The lack of clean water is a major problem of plagues many areas of the world in
today. There are various technology available in the market such as RO membrane, UV
radiation UF filtration. But these technologies are very expensive and consume too much
power to be effective in rural area. Most of the rural area there is no availability of
electricity. So, we decide to use the solar power. Water purification is the process to
remove the contaminated water from the surface water. Due to contaminated water can
cause the various diseases like as Kidney Stone, Malaria, Stomach Pain, untold misery
and brain damage. hence, we can use this multistage technology to purify the water using
solar power. In addition to this, we know that we are living in this century where which
the preferences of human being have taken up the actual needs, and by considering that
the pure and especially cold drinking water has became the number one preference. Also,
nobody is unaware about the advantages of drinking the warm water, so our this project
is not only limited to just purify the water but also transit it according to human needs
into the cold and warm water.

INTRODUCTION
Water purification is the process to remove the contaminants from the
ground water for the specific purposes. The contaminants like as particulate
matter, dissolved minerals. This are various technologies are available in the
market to purify the water such as distillation, ion exchange, filtration, RO
membrane filtration, ultraviolet(UV) radiation or a combination of more than one
and more technology. The mostly used technology is membrane filtration and UV
radiation.
Due to poor quality of water and also the various chemicals are present in
the surface water. Because of this water many borne diseases are spared, which
cause the untold misery. In this water the various types of bacteria also present.
Lead metal can cause the brain damage and it is very dangerous to human health.
The RO membrane removes the particles as small as 0.0001 microns from the
contaminated water or ground water.
In our project we can use the solar power for the operation of purifier. In
the most of rural area their lack of availability of electricity. Without electricity
we cannot operate the purifier plant. hence, we can use the solar power for the
processing of purifier. It is clean source of electricity and also it will be
environment friendly. Also, after the purification of water the water will be
dispense from a separate cold and hot water dispenser. So, this type of system is
highly suitable for military camps, village areas and fairs and tourist places where
arrangement of temporary drinking water is a prime requisite at minimal price.

WORKING PRINCIPLE-
Purification of water is based on reverse osmosis, ultra-filtration, ultra violet
radiation systems which are powered by solar energy stored in battery and also
in order to obtain the cold and hot drinking water has per requirement Peltier
effect of refrigeration is used.
COMPONENTS:
1. RO (reverse osmosis) system
2. UF (ultra-filtration) system
3. UV (ultra violet) system
4. TDS controller
5. Solar panel
6. Battery
7. Peltier module
8. Heat sinks
9. Tubing and other accessories of connections.
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION AND WORKING-

The working of this project basically consists three major elemental

systems. From this first is energy source, which is first collected from solar
energy. The solar radiations are collected by solar panel. This energy is then
stored in a battery through a charge controller. The battery is connected to the
purification unit through an electromagnetic relay. The battery is also connected
to a voltage regulator.

The purification unit consists of high pressure motor, reverse osmosis

system, Ultra filter or pre-filter, Ultraviolet filtration system and the water tank.
The Water filtration is carried out using pre-filter (washable debris filter), 0.5-
micron sediment filter, and activated carbon filter where solid particles like sand,
debris, fine particles are removed from water. Water disinfection is carried out
using UV filtration having ability to destroy micro-organisms such as parasites,
bacteria, etc. High pressure motor creates the necessary pressure required to carry
out reverse osmosis. When two solutions of different concentrations are separated
by a semi-permeable membrane, solvent (water) flows from a region of lower
concentration to higher concentration. This process is called osmosis. If a
hydrostatic pressure in excess of osmotic pressure is applied on the higher
concentration side, the solvent flow is reversed i.e., solvent flows from higher
concentration to lower concentration. This process is called reverse osmosis
Later the pure water is circulated through heat sinks at which a heat
flux is generated by using a Peltier to get hot and cold water simultaneously the
Peltier effect basically suggest that, if two dissimilar metal connected at two
junction and current is passed to them then, one side gets automatically heated
and other gets Heated. This both sides are here used for cooling and heating of
water as per the requirement.

ADVANTAGES:

 Solar free energy is used as Power source

 Can used for filtration extremely sedimented water
 All dissolved solvents, harmful viruses and bacteria are also removed
 Can be used for filtration of sea water
 Pure water with required minerals and TDS value
 Can be used in remote places, villages or army camps were electricity is
not available.
 Hot or cold water can be supplied as per desire

ESTIMATED COST-
10000-12000 Rs
CONCLUSION-

Safe drinking water is the basic need of human beings. Microbial contamination
of drinking water is a major health hazard, to overcome these we can this purifier
system for the clean and fresh water but the main problem in some village areas
is that there is no availability of electricity for adequate time, because of which
we cannot operate RO water purifier plant. Hence it will be end over with smart
approach to get pure (Cold & Hot) drinking water with the optimum use of
renewable energy sources with our project.
