Are you curious whether your characters are a good fit for astrological signs such as Aries,

Taurus, Gemini, etc.? Do you build your characters’ personalities first, then work on logistical
details such as their date of birth? If you answered “yes” to either question (or both), then you’ve
found the right set of tools to help you!
Here’s what the Zodiac Signs & Character Traits Worksheets consists of:
 Worksheet A: "Which Zodiac Sign Fits Your Character Best?" – The Activities,
using the content and questions from the blog post “Which Zodiac Sign Fits Your
Character Best?”. (NOTE: You may want to read the article before trying these
exercises.)
 Worksheet B: The Zodiac Signs & Character Traits Chart, which lists the twelve
zodiac signs, their calendar date ranges, and 20+ personality traits that are commonly
associated with each sign. You can refer to this chart while working on the activities in
Worksheet A.

Before You Get Started…

No one is a 100% match with their zodiac sign. I see several aspects of my Virgo sign in me,
but not others. You might think the same way about you and your sign.
Remember this as you do complete these worksheets for your characters. You're not looking
for the "perfect" fit - you're looking for the closest fit, the most appropriate or reflective sign
that will help you pin down a logical birthday for that character. So, give these worksheets and
activities a try. You might be surprised with what you discover.

Instructions:

Print out a copy of these worksheets. Use the chart in Worksheet B to help you complete the
activities in Worksheet A. You may also want to have copies of any character profiles you’ve
developed on hand for these worksheets.

Worksheet A: Which Zodiac Sign Fits Your Character Best?
The Activities
Activity #1: Instant Recognition
Using the Chart in Worksheet B, review each sign's set of traits and see if any immediately
remind you of your characters. Let your intuition guide you based on each character's individual
strengths and flaws.
Once you decide on your character’s zodiac sign and birthday, record that information in your
profile for that character or other documents where you keep track of character details.
Activity #2: Compare & Count
Not all of your characters' zodiac signs will be instantly recognizable. In these instances, you'll
need to compare a character's traits to each individual sign. You may want a blank sheet of
paper for this activity.
1. Choose one of your characters, and list her positive and negative attributes. If you
already this information in a character profile, have a copy handy for Step #2.
2. Compare your character's list to one of the columns in the Zodiac Signs & Character
Traits Chart in Worksheet B, and write down the number of common character traits.
3. Repeat Step #2 for each zodiac sign column in the Chart.
4. Determine which zodiac sign has the highest number of common traits. This sign is most
likely the best fit for your character. Feel free to read an online profile of this sign before
you decide. (NOTE: See the Bibliography section on Page 2 for a list of sites.)
5. If two zodiac signs have the same number of common traits, read an online profile of
each sign before deciding which one is the more accurate match for that character.
(NOTE: Refer to the sites listed in the Bibliography section on Page 2.)
6. If two neighboring signs (Aries and Taurus, Gemini and Cancer, etc.) have the same
number or close of common traits, it's likely that your character was born on the cusp of
two signs. You can learn more about cusp signs here.
Again, once you choose your character’s zodiac sign and birthday, record that information in the
character’s profile or other documents where you list such details.
