I. Introduction:
Department of Education officially designated July as the National Disaster
Resilience Month with the theme “ Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro para sa Tunay na
Pagbabago” from July 1 to 31, 2019, in compliance to Republic Act 10121 of 2010 also
known as the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act.
This celebration aims to increase the awareness of every Filipino especially pupils
and school personnel on natural and man-made hazards for a better appreciation of the
department’s disaster preparedness program.
In line with this, CLEOMENES CONSOLACION FORTUGALEZA
MEMORIAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL joined the month long celebration and conducted
activities to honor the said event.(Scribd.com)

A. Narrative:
We have set various activities for this Month long celebration of the National
Disaster Resilience Month 2019 for CCFMES. The above mentioned activities are
among the conducted series of activities in the school. It was participated by our pupils,
teachers and parents as well. We have invited resource speakers from MDRRMO, our
Municipal Police Officers, Teachers knowledgeable on Risk Reduction, and viewed some
slides and videos regarding Disasters and its techniques and ways to mitigate the problem
about the Disasters Management.
Awareness and means to protect lives and saving others are among the discussed
topics in the symposium conducted.
Some of the activities conducted like symposium on NSED and Drill, SWM,
Slogan and Essay writing are set on different scheduled date to complete the month
activities.
To conclude the celebration of the 2019 National Disaster Resilience Month, our
School conducted a Culmination Program on August 2, 2019 at 3:00 0’clock in the
afternoon. The program was a blast! It was indeed very successful and joyful, because
despite of the heavy down pour of rain and no power of electricity we continued the
activities and it was a SUCCESS. Full participation of pupils, teachers, parents and
officials the program was culminated immensely.
