 There’s a lot of variety when it comes to music, but in this topic i will gonna
try

to discuss and expand our knowledge about music. We also answers some question like.

For being a Christian are we allowed or is it okay for us to listen and sang “ Secular Music”?

Can Christians make secular music/ Can Non-Christian make Biblical Music?

Can we use any music to Praise God?

What is the Biblical Music?

What is the Secular Music?

Did music is under satan dominion?

I also interviewed some person who used to write and compose a music both

Christians and Non Christians and we’re gonna know their thoughts about Music. I also
have

A question is mind that I will share here “Is it deaf person or the person who can’t hear can

make music? Or can praise God through music?

As we know music is a wide or huge topic, it so vast that in our history we can hear

about it. Also if we read a bible God appointed or picked a person who used to become

worshiper. That’s why in this paper I’m gonna relay how music started and how it evolve
from

time to time both secular and biblical music.

Music has a lot of faces, every nation or places have their own way to create

music but in this paper we will talk about Biblical Music,

of form, harmony, and expression of emotion.

The written or printed signs representing vocal or instrumental sound.

Music is a form of art that uses sound organised in time. Music is also a form of

entertainment that puts sounds together in a way that people like, find interesting or

dance to. Most music includes people singing with their voices or playing musical

instruments, such as the piano, guitar, drums or violin.

Music Genre
Portmanteau class holding categories that represent styles or classifications of music, useful
in

identifying and organizing similar musical artists or recordings.

Pop Music A genre of popular music that originated in the West during the 1950s
and

1960s. Pop music is eclectic, often borrowing elements from urban, dance, rock, Latin,
country,

and other styles. Songs are typically short to medium-length with repeated choruses,
melodic

tunes, and hooks.

Hiphop Hip hop or rap music formed in the United States in the 1970s and consists
of

stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rhythmic and rhyming speech
("rapping").

Rock Music A genre of popular music that originated as "rock and roll" in the United

States in the 1950s, and developed into a range of different styles in the 1960s and later.
Compared to pop music, rock places a higher degree of emphasis on musicianship, live

performance, and an ideology of authenticity.

Rhythm and Blue A genre of popular African-American music that originated in the

1940s as urbane, rocking, jazz based music with a heavy, insistent beat. Lyrics focus heavily
on

the themes of triumphs and failures in terms of relationships, freedom, economics,

and sex.

Soul and Music A popular music genre that combines elements of African-American

gospel music, rhythm and blues and jazz.

Reggae A popular music genre that combines elements of African-American gospel

music, rhythm and blues and jazz.

Country A popular music genre that combines elements of African-American gospel

music, rhythm and blues and jazz.

Funk A music genre that originated in the 1960s when African American musicians

created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music that de-emphasized melody and chord

progressions to bring a strong rhythmic groove of a bass line and drum part to the
foreground.

Folk Music A genre that evolved from traditional music during the 20th century folk

revival. One meaning often given is that of old songs with no known composers; another is

music that has been transmitted and evolved by a process of oral transmission or performed
by

custom over a long period of time.

Middle Eastern Music Music originating from the vast region from Morocco to Iran,

including the Arabic countries of the Middle East and North Africa, the Iraqi traditions of

Mesopotamia, Iranian traditions of Persia, the Hebrew music of Israel, Armenian music, the

varied traditions of Cypriot music, the music of Turkey, traditional Assyrian music, Berbers of
North Africa, and Coptic Christians in Egypt.

Jazz A music genre that originated from African American communities of New
Orleans

during the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the form of independent traditional and

popular musical styles, all linked by the common bonds of African American and European

American musical parentage with a performance orientation.

Disco A genre of dance music containing elements of funk, soul, pop, and salsa that

achieved popularity during the mid-1970s to the early 1980s.

Classical Music Art music produced or rooted in the traditions of Western music,

including both liturgical and secular music, over the broad span of time from roughly the

century to the present day.

Electrical Music A large set of predominantly popular and dance genres in which

synthesizers and other electronic instruments are the primary sources of sound.

Music of Latin America Music originating from Latin America which encompasses a
wide

variety of styles, including son, rumba, salsa, merengue, tango, samba, and bossa nova.

Blues A genre and musical form developed by African Americans in the United States

around the end of the 19th century from African-American work songs and European-
American

folk music. The blues form, ubiquitous in jazz and rock and roll, is characterized by the call-
and-

response pattern, the blues scale and specific chord progressions, of which the twelve-bar
blues

is the most common. Blues shuffles or walking bass reinforce the trance-like rhythm and
form a

repetitive groove effect.

Music for Children Music performed for children, often designed to provide an
entertaining means of teaching about cultures, good behavior, facts, and skills.

New Age Music A genre of music intended to create artistic inspiration, relaxation,
and

optimism used by listeners for yoga, massage, meditation, and reading as a method of stress

management or to create a peaceful atmosphere. Includes both electronic and acoustic

Vocal Music Music performed by one or more singers, with or without instrumental

accompaniment, in which singing provides the main focus of the piece.

Music of Africa Music whose style or form clearly indicates African origin or primarily

African influence. Given the vastness of the continent, this covers many distinct musical

traditions. Sub-Saharan African music frequently relies on percussion instruments including

xylophones, drums, and tone-producing instruments such as the mbira or "thumb piano."

Christian Music Music that has been written to express either personal or a
communal

belief regarding Christian life and faith. Its forms vary widely across the world, according to

culture and social context.

Music of Asia Musical styles originating from a large number of Asian countries
located

in Central, Southern, and East Asia.

SKA A music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s, combining elements
of

Caribbean mento and calypso with American jazz and rhythm and blues. It is characterized
by a

walking bass line accented with rhythms on the off-beat.

Traditional Music Musical forms that have origins many generations into the past,

commonly without formal notation or description, commonly familiar to people in a given

culture.

Independent Music Music produced independent of major commercial record

used to describe music of this style regardless of actual production channel.

So the question right now if music is just a combination both Vocal and Instrumental can
any

one make their own music? Off course Yes! All can create their own music on their own but the
fact

is not every one Is capable to sing or play any instrument.

Music is associated by Culture, Language, and History like what we say before every
nation

has their own way to use or to make music like Europe for example they have “Classical Music”

types of music which so calm and slow were you can relax while listening to it, on the other hand

take Jamaica they also have their own music called “Reggae” kind of music where they omit and
add

some notes to make off beat sounds, they say if you hear music like reggae you feel like you
want to

dancing (Fun Fact Jamaican used reggae when they have celebration).

The other nation make music for their ritual take Africa for example if they have plenty of

harvest and if full moon they sang and dance to their gods. I also read some history from history
that

there’s a nation use music if they have war take Israel for example, Bible or the Holy Scripture
tell a

story in Old Testament where if they have a war they picked and set a choir who led every one in

marching.

I also watched a footage on the internet where Russia used music to boost their moral
while

rallying , so this is just a couple of example on how different nation, and culture use Music.

THEOLOGY
What is Theology?

Theology study of nature of God and Religious beliefs.

It examines the human experience of faith, and how different people and cultures
express it. ... Theologians have the complex job of thinking about and debating the nature of

God. Studying theology means taking on challenging questions about the meaning of
religion.

There are four types of Theology.

 The Biblical Theology

Biblical Theology - Biblical theology is the focus on the specific ways that the discreet and

unique authorial voices in Scripture reflect on the larger questions of theology and the

relationships of actions and activities between God and human creatures.  Biblical theology

is undertaken by persons who are formed and practiced by their Christian faith, account for

the historical currents which feed and flow in and through Scripture, and do so with full

awareness of how the particular voices in Scripture rise together as a canonical choir,

coordinating together in ways that are ultimately reflected in dogmatic theology.

Historical Theology- Historical theology, likewise, is undertaken within the practices of

faith, paying specific attention to all the movements of human history from the perspective

of biblically informed views of space and time, accounting for the dynamic movements of

dogmatic theology and the practices of the Church.

Systematic Theology - The practices and reflections of systematic theology take up the

canonical currents of Biblical theology, appropriating the theological voices of history.  It

does so with the full consciousness that dogmatic theology serves the Church as the people

of God in her efforts to live and act faithfully in relation to her Creator, and Lord and Savior

in the power of the Holy Spirit. Dogmatic theology’s goal is forming practiced faithfulness.

Practical Theology - Lastly, practical theology begins with the full consciousness that all the

practices of the church and Christians are underwritten by theologies; biblical, historical and

systematic.  The goal of practical theology is to reflect intentionally on present practices and
their ingredient theologies in order to critically discern their shape and character so as to

deeper faithful practices, correct those which are sinful, and discern with greater clarity how

to live out biblical Christian virtues.

Theology must simply revolves in God alone, now that we already know both

meanings of Music and Theology let’s dig deeper now by combining them In one topic what

it means when we say Theology of Music? Is just any song for God? How they are related

to each other?

Theology of Music
This paper is concerned with how we should understand the distinctive contribution

of music to Christian worship. It considers two contrasting views that have powerfully

influenced contemporary church music – the pursuit of musical excellence by highly

competent performers on the one hand, and the adoption of simpler, popular and more

inclusive musical forms on the other. This contrast is explored against the background of a

biblical understanding of prayer and sacrifice, and in the light of some philosophical issues

surrounding both the idea of divine service and the nature of music.

As we observe the text or the Scripture above we can say now that the Biblical

principle for Music it involves Instrument like Sharps and trumpet the life of every individual

person choose by God, how they use it for proclaiming the Glory of God.

Now let’s answer the Question about “Is it the music is under the Domain of Satan”?

In Ezekiel 28, and Isaiah 14, this particular chapter in the Bible suggested that satan was

once become worshiper in heaven. So that we can say that other people link or connect

satan to music because once in his life he handle worship in heaven before he fall, we can

clearly say that Music is not under his Domain.

Another thing that we need to answer is “Is it every song can used to praise God? If

we read the text above we can also tell that not every song can be used to praise God,

because as what I say before Theology must be revolve around God, so that if the song or

particular music is not about Glorifying God it can’t be use to Praise or even worship God, I

already indicate above that Theology of Music has also do about the life of person chosen by

God. It’s very personal

On the other hand same thing not every Music can be used to praise God, same goes
to the musician. There’s a lot to consider before you can praise God. First that we can see
you should know God. Off course you must be a follower of him.

I interview some person who used to write and create music both Christian and Non-

Christian to know their thoughts about this. I asked them if it is okay to Christian to listen

and sing Secular. Some say Yes! Because it doesn’t matter at all and the other say No! for

them listening and singing secular music is like conforming to this world, on the other hand

non believers say they like to sing and listen to the Christian Music.
Can deaf person can praise God through Music.?

I asked a deaf teacher and they say off course not, but they can also praise God
through Gestures.

For the ending of this Paper we can surely say that Music is very personal, so that if

you create or sang music for God, address it to him by proclaiming his goodness in our lives

by using his words.
