Report On Attachment Carried Out at The Audit Department
INTRODUCTION
Upon the application for the consideration of attachment at Nairobi City Council , I was
privileged to secure a place in the Audit Department and specifically in the Revenue section for
the period between 2nd May to 2nd August 2012.
OBJECTIVE
My main objective was to apply my theoretical knowledge obtained in class work practically and
to gain more knowledge pertaining Audit work.
REVENUE SECTION
The Revenue section is one of the sub units of Audit Department mandated to carry out routine
Audit of the council operations and its internal control systems more so on Councils Revenue
sources and report the same to the Audit Committee and to the Town Clerk. The section is also
tasked with preparing reports on the findings and give recommendations on the corrective
measures to be taken in case of an irregularity.
ACHIEVEMENTS
1. During my attachment period, I did my work diligently, within the set time frame and up
to the expected standards.
2. I was exposed to teamwork and its importance in accomplishing tasks.
3. I interacted well with the Audit staff.
4. I managed to put my theoretical knowledge into practice.

I would like to most sincerely thank the entire Audit staff for the invaluable support,
encouragement,
Coaching and the maximum cooperation they gave me during my entire attachment. I worked
with them smoothly and I never experienced any problem during my engagement with them.
