    ACADEMIC PROJECTS:

    Project Name : Simulation of Performance of HV AC Transmission Line


    Location : Machilipatnam
    Duration : 2 months

    Description : Now a day’s most of the power, from the generating


    stations to substations and other equipment is being
    transferred through long transmission lines at high
    voltages. A suitable model of a transmission line
    consists of resistances, inductances, capacitances
    and leakage conductances. All the above quantities
    are considered to be distributed whatever may be
    the length. When power is transferred through the
    transmission lines various losses occur. So, these
    losses are to be calculated to know the performance
    of a transmission line. Moreover the voltage profile
    on these transmission lines should be maintained in
    a desired manner. This needs compensation of the
    lines. For the calculation of the various parameters
    and compensation required for a particular
    transmission line involves tedious work and the
    calculations are cumbersome, error prone and time
    consuming. Efforts are being made to obtain the
    performance of HV lines in an interactive way. Our
    software program specially designed named
    “lineperf” using built-in-functions of MATLAB displays
    the desired result of the user upon exact choice and
    necessary data for digital simulation of hv ac line
    performance.
