SUGAR IS BAD, BUT FAT IS GOOD

Civilization is looking for sweeteners to make dishes healthier. Here are some of what people found:

1. Date Sugar: One teaspoon of this sugar contains 15 calories and about 3 grams of sugar. You
can replace white sugar with date sugar in equal amounts but using two-thirds also works well in
most recipes.
2. Stevia: The extract from stevia is approximately 100 to 300 times sweeter than white sugar,
yes you heard that right 300 times! You can use stevia in cooking, baking, and as a sweetener in
beverages.
3. Maple Syrup: 100% pure maple syrup in its purest form can be very beneficial. It is made from
boiling the sap extracted from certain species of maples trees primarily growing in the
notheastern U.S. and Canada.
4. Monk Fruit: It's real name is Luo Han Guo and it is found in Southwestern China where it has
been used for hundreds of years.
5. Agave: A 2014 study on mice suggested that agave syrup might be a healthy alternative to
table sugar. Mice who consumed agave nectar had lower blood glucose levels and gained less
weight compared to mice that consumed table sugar.
6. Raw Honey: Raw honey contains small amounts of antioxidants, potassium, phosphorus and
vitamin B6. These nutrients help to neutralize free-radical damage and provide essential vitamins
and minerals to keep the body healthy.
7. Coconut Sugar: Coconut palm sap, which is about 80 percent water, is boiled to evaporate the
liquid content, and the solids that remain are granulated to form coconut sugar. It looks and
tastes a lot like brown sugar and has a subtle caramel like flavour.

ALL ARE PLANT BASED SUGARS. SO IS STANDARD TABLE SUGAR!!

Table sugar is a plant based sugar it is either refined from sugar beets or sugar cane. High
fructose corn syrup is plant based sugar it is made from corn which is a plant. Table sugar and
H.F.C.S are considered bad, but they are plant based. These are used everywhere.

There is a correlation from the 50’s that shows the rise in heart diseases, diabetes, and the like
are equal to the consumption of sugar. All Low-fat diets remove the fats and put back in sugar to
add flavor.
