Guide Questions
Part A. Answer the question/s concisely.
1. Objects can be charged in either by conduction or induction. Discuss the
process on how does an object can be charged (a) by induction, (b) by
conduction.
2. Why do electric charges are freely to move in conductors and not freely to
move in insulators?
3. Explain the importance/significance of semiconductors in our world today.

Guide Questions
Part B. Answer each problem with complete solution.
1. Two charges q1=6μC, q2=−30μC, are L = 12 cm apart. A third charge is to be
placed on the line between the two charges. How far from q1 should the third
charge be placed so that the net electric force on the third charge is minimized?
2. Four charges are placed at the corners of a square 0.1m on a side. Determine
the electric field in the center of the square.
