INTRODUCTION TO
ROOFTOP PV CONCEPT
How Does It Work?
On-Grid Solar PV provides electricity by converting solar irradiation. And when connected in
parallel with the Grid, the Grid will inject less electricity to balance the supply – demand.
Energy and Cost Savings Concept
Solar PV implementation will reduce electricity supplied from the Grid.
Which in turns, reduced the energy bill.

Self-generation reduces energy imported from the grid.

Which in turn, save the energy bill.

*The energy generated varies (depend on available space for installation and solar irradiation).

Solar PV supplies electricity during daylights, reducing grid supplies during the same time.

Savings Opportunity Estimation at SPINDO I & IV
Preliminary estimation using 10% discount of PLN rate with 5% annual escalation

Figure below shows the annual savings and cumulative savings from Implementation of Rooftop PV at SPINDO
I & IV. This is based on the assumption 10% discount of PLN Tariff, 10%*1,035 IDR/kWh with PPJ 8% and 5%
tariff escalation. Based on the historical CAGR, the PLN Tariff is escalated at 6.6% rate for 20 year CAGR.
In 2020 Tariff is 1,035 IDR/kWh while in 2000 Tariff is 263 IDR/kWh. The unit is in IDRmn or Juta Rupiah.
Based on 20 years contract duration, hence free PV cost/full savings for 21-25 years.
