Wireless Access Point (WAP) is a network device that acts as a portal for
devices to connect to a local area network. Access points are used for
extending the wireless coverage of an existing network and for increasing the
number of users that can connect to it.
In this module, you will learn how to configure Wireless Access
Point by running Quick Setup. The following are the steps to perform basic
WAP configurations though running QUCK SETUP. Note: The device used in
this demonstration is TP-Link, but the procedures may also be applicable to
other brands.
2. Open any browser and type the default LAN IP Address. For TPLink WAP,
the default IP address can be 192.168. 1.1 or 192.168. 1.254 or
192.168. 0.254. You can also use the default access domain by typing
tplinkap.net.
NOTE 2: If the device cannot be accessed using the default setting, you may
reset it by pressing the reset button to restore its default setup.
Note: The new user name and password must not exceed 15 characters
in length and must not include any spaces. Enter the new Password
twice to confirm it.
