Floriculture

Park Talegaon.

Maharashtra has emerged as a leading state for production, export and consumption of
flowers in the country. MIDC promoted a Floriculture Park at Talegaon near Pune, over
200 hectare of area, ideal for setting up of a Floriculture Park. This park will be of the
world-class facility for production of flowers of different types and varieties when fully
developed.

The Concept of Floriculture Park:

1. Park will have 101 growing units each at 1.35Ha. in 2 Hector land with provision of
dwelling units.
2. MIDC will develop internal infrastructure such as internal roads, water supply
networks and street lights. Electricity distribution network will be provided by MSEB.
3. The park will be divided into 5 blocks of 25-30 growing units. Park will have a post
harvest centre with grading, pre-cooling, cold storage and packing facilities.
4. The post harvest and marketing companies will establish the post harvest management
centers.
5. Nurseries to grow planting material and demonstrate the performance of various
varieties.

A separate water supply scheme is supplying settled water to FLORICULTURE
PARK. Since it is agriculture activity the energy charges for water shall be charged at
Agricultural Rate. The MSEB is also granted power supply for the Floriculture Park at
Agriculture Rate.
