The soul is age-less, eternal, elixir-form and fearless. Holy Veda states that whosoever have the knowledge of such soul becomes
the divine.
Human beings come to this earth naked and at the end leave this earth naked. Therefore all endeavors in the life should be there
to perform only the God-directed duties.
Listening to the sweet, true and conducive precepts of scholars and being inspired by the spirit of welfare, telling those precepts to
others are religious deeds.
Aphorisms
High aspirations and self-restraint makes the man great.
- Napolean Bonapart
We get freedom by truth and the freedom provides the truth.
- Sri Ravindra Naath Tagore
Who is devoid of human like attributes and nature, how can he be a human?

Compassion consensual philanthropy is good, but serving all the creatures with divine knowledge is the best.
- Swami Vivekananda
Sinners can’t be brought to correct way by condemning or hatred. They should be dealt with politely.
- Sant Francis
In the absence of character, the knowledge becomes merely the power to generate evils. That is being seen in the
context of talented thieves and civilized rascals in the world.
- Mahatma Gandhi
Holiness doesn’t mean insentient brain. With the active expression of virtues, the sharpest wit grows.

The diligence to achieve the God is nothing but the devotion to him; or rather say that the endeavor by which the
divinity is achieved is same as devotion.

Like how it needs hard work to make a barren land fertile, we should make our brain productive by the true
companionships and the practices of gained knowledge.

Favorable or unfavorable, each situation should be accepted with pleasure as if those were offerings of the God.

Taking something from anyone is not good practice, but chanting the name of the God is good. Giving something to
anyone is good practice but giving pains to anyone is not good.

[1 – By saying Ram, Sant Kabeer has pointed towards supreme sovereign soul which is pervaded even inside personified, born Ram (i.e. Son of King Dusrath).
Only by worshipping the human form Ram, crossing this worldly ocean (crossing the worldly ocean means getting rid of the cycle of births and deaths and
thereby attaining salvation) is not possible.]
Basis of Truth
Editorial
The word ‘Santmat’ is the combination of two words ‘Sant’ and ‘Mat’. The word ‘Sant’ has been originated from a Sanskrit word
‘Santah’ which means—TRUTH. Who have adopted true ethics in his mind, precept and deeds and in addition to this, who have
realized the divine, such a great human is eligible to be called SANT. ‘Mat” means—OPINION. For good of humans, sants have
been formulated some principles to be adopted in life, those principles are—SANTMAT. This is most successful art of living
whose essence and basis is truth. Just as sun is meaningless without heat, ‘Santmat’ is coreless, purposeless rather say it is non-
existent without truth. Rather than just taking the initiation of santmat, if someone adopts truth and helps truth, then he is
relatively closer to santmat. Does it worth believing that by going away from truth anybody can adopt santmat? I believe, if we
want to serve santmat (which we pledge while taking initiation—“For the progress of santmat I will always be helpful with my
mind, health and wealth.”), then we should adopt truth in our lives. At least if we won’t accompany lie, won’t proliferate lie, we
would be saved from big flaws. The holy master Maharshi Mehin was saying—“Lying is the father of all sins. He, who learned
to tell lies, will also learn to execute all the sins”. We say ourselves as disciples but if we don’t want to live according to
master’s guidelines, then what would be our condition? The nun Sahjobai has said:
[Who doesn’t obey the master and even blames the master, such a cynic fellow lives miserably in life and don’t get salvation
after death.]
[Liars are getting honored, Truthful are getting damned. Hypocrites and opportunists are everywhere worshiped. ]

Let’s go off the matter of cult. Truth is everyone’s religion—‘There is no other religion better that truth.’ and ‘Truth always
wins, not the falsehood’. Taitiriyopnishad says: ‘Speak truth, adopt religion’ that implies truth is the first priority compared to
religion. Mahabharata says: ‘No religions are like truth’ and ‘even thousands of oblations are lesser compared to truth’. The
number of degrees one adopts the truth in same degrees he tends to move towards greatness. It’s everyone’s duty that not to
believe directly on rumors, rather go to the root of that for not to become liable of sin for helping the lie.
The common teaching of sants is: Truth and Non-Violence. If we would decide to follow it as basis of our life then our future
life would surely be bright. .
[I worship the lotus-feet of my master; the ocean of benevolence and the personified God. Whose words are rays of sun in the agglomerate
darkness of widely spread fascinations.]
Dear people!
The way we gain the knowledge of world by knowing about the world and its expansions, the same way by knowing about the
God, we gain the knowledge of the God. After getting the God nothing remains to be achieved. Only human body is eligible to
do this job. The body of dewah is also insignificant in comparison to human body because by their body they are incapable to
achieve the God. This is why Goswami Tulsidas says:
[With utmost luck you have got this human body which is inaccessible to even devahs as per the scriptures.]
Discover the God. It has its centre but no circumference. Just centre and centre everywhere. Our senses are incapable to
achieve that. Even if someone would read all four Vedas more and more, he would remember all the verses, he would have
utmost intellectual power; but by doing so , he can’t recognize the God because, the knowledge by listening and reading are
limited up to listening and considering. He would need to do practices. Scriptures like Vedas have put stress on practices.
Lokmany bal gangadhar Tilak has written in his book ‘Gita Rahasya’ that: The tradition of spiritual wisdom which is the very
fundamental for achieving salvation has been coming continuously till now since the time of upnishadas to
‘Gyaneswar’,‘Tukaram’, ‘Ramdas’, ‘Kabeer Das’, ‘Soor Das’, ‘Tulsi Das’ etc and to the contemporary sadhus and saints….. But for
our good just to have the knowledge of four characters (i.e. knowledge by reading and listening) is not enough. The values
would be needed to be gained through many generations, continence, long diligence and the worship through meditation.
Only reading won’t help. When no desires would be left except simply achieving the divine, then our soul, not the senses like
mind, wisdom etc., can achieve the God. When this body-bound soul would get rid of body, senses and the interiors; then it
could achieve that state. Until this soul is wrapped around by these interiors, it can’t identify the divine. Like when your eyes
will be striped around, it will be unable to identify any object, and when that stripe taken off, it does recognize. Similarly, when
the body and senses would be stripped off then the God will be identified. If you want to get the God even doing bad works, it
would not be. The desire to find the God even while doing bad works is same as milking milk from vacuum. Control your body,
mind and senses for this. It can’t be done by them who is fickle minded and whose senses are uncontrolled. Still your mind and
control your senses. At the outset it would not be, the mind would stand momentarily. In rainy days, the Ganges flows along
with straws and thatches continuously. People remove them and take shower. Just as that, at the outset, the mind performs
withdrawal. Many things keep occurring in the mind. Withdraw or restrain them for minding and practicing. Similarly with such
withdrawal (i.e. Pratyahaar) your mind would keep on holding for more time (i.e. Dharana) and then there would be meditation
(i.e. Dhyan). That rainy season will go when water of the Ganges becomes clear enought to enjoy bathing into it. Just as that,

one day the mind becomes clean and pure by practices. Once I had said…”I am not able to meditate, my mind scatters here and
there”, then a disciple of my master told: “Why are you getting disappointed? Don’t you know this word of Kabeer Sahib?
झुठ मुठ खेलै सचमुच होय, सचमुच खेलै वरला कोय | जो कोई खेलै मन िचत लाय, होते होते होइए जाय | |
[Indifferent player becomes sincere, and sincere players are rare. When one plays sincerely then that is bound to occur.]
Practicing withdrawal (i.e. withdrawing your mind from scattering) your mind will begin to hold for longer (i.e. Dharna) and
same way one day you will be one of those rare players. First you perform withdrawal. If your mind doesn’t stop running away,
you don’t quit returning that back. As many times that runs away that many times you get that back. By doing like this many
times, first there would be Dharna and then there would be meditation. Therefore don’t panic from withdrawal. Same way
your senses would be subdued and mind will be controlled. Who doesn’t get protected from the squalors of mind and wish to
achieve the God, is same as one who wants to become scholar without reading.
Where will you go to identify something which is pervaded everywhere? It can be answered as: That is there all-pervaded but
that can’t be identified there. Your soul is stripped around or you can say it is wearing the spec. Remove them off then you will
recognize. To remove them off one would have to remove his body one after another. Reaching where those strips and specs
get removed off, there only that will be recognized.
Meditation is not possible without love. The mind runs too much. The one who has love in his heart, his mind doesn’t run
much. If there occurs the shower of divine light inside a devotee and his consciousness adhere to the divine sound then he
would achieve the divine knowledge. Unless there is meditation out of love, there is long way to go to reach home. If you know
how to meditate and you meditate out of love, then that way is no longer.
Believe in one infinite and unbound being. If you think it limited then question would arise that what is there beyond that?
Irrespective of how big a limited area may be, if we join all such limited beings the resultant would surely be limited only. Saints
have declared the God as infinite and unbound being. Because it remains a question unless we believe that beyond all the
limited beings there is one and only infinite and unbound being. That same being has been declared as supreme sovereign soul
by all the saints. To know about that, the upnishadas says:
[Who has not been freed from their evil deeds, whose senses are not subdued, and whose mind is unquiet, he can’t achieve
the God by self-realization.]
Guru Nanak Sahib has said: “The truth accommodates in the sacred vessel” .
Both are same thing. And you have heard the precept of Goswami Tulsidas:
[Heart perceives the unqualified being, eyes perceives the qualified one and tongue pronounces the good name of ‘Ram’]
Eyes are incapable to catch unqualified beings; they only catch the qualified things. Some qualified objects i.e. ‘objects with
attributes’, can’t be perceived by eyes. Objects with attributes which has form or face can be viewed by eyes, but our eyes can’t
see some attributed objects which are without form or face. Therefore, Goswami Tulsidas has said that objects without
attributes are there in the heart and the objects with attributes are there in eyes. Goswami Tulsidas has defined the MASTER
as: “Who talks about knowledge rather than talking about ignorance, who talks about light rather than talking about
darkness i.e. whose mood has been moved into the light leaving the darkness behind and whose mood lies in unqualified
beings leaving the qualified things behind; is the MASTER”. Goswami Tulsidas ji had experience of both attributed things as
well as the unattributed beings. That which is perceived by heart and that which can be seen by eyes; which is special out of
these two? Goswami Tulsidas writes in Ramcharit Manas that:
[रामच रत मानस य ह नामा | सुनत वन पाइय व ामा | |अस मानस मानस चषु चाह | भई क व बु वमल अवगाह |]
The character of Ram is the water. The illustration of qualified things is the sweetness and the description of those which are
without attributes is the depth of this water. Whose mood or emotions lies in qualified things are in delicacy but the depth lies

in unqualified beings. Some people say that Tulsidas believed in qualified i.e. physical being and Nanak Sahib and Kabeer Das
believed in unqualified i.e. metaphysical beings. But that is not true. Nanak sahib also believed in physical deity. He says: “गु
क मूरित मन म ह िधयानू” i.e. “concentrate on the face of the master inside your mind”. Kabeer Sahib has said: "गु साहब
तो एक है i.e. “The master and the lord are same”. How they did not believe in the physical deity? This is what the “Santmat”
says. Santmat says that “Living in the society you think of superiority and inferiority, indulge in fighting, saying someone
superior and someone inferior; Leave it and be sadhu (i.e. gentle), be tolerant, don’t be indulged into communal conflicts.
Separating the people is not proper.
[This discourse was given in morning satsang, at Pategana village in Purnea District, on dated: 22/12/1952 ]
It is undisputed truth that without any basis no refinement is possible and without refinements no redemption is possible.
Therefore, some base is needed for reformation, and what would be such base? That is truthfulness. Only truthfulness is
capable to bring unity, nothing else.
[To the blissful face of the true master which helps to meet the very base of all; the God, I put my repeated prayer to bestow
bliss and welfare. Oh auspicious bliss-giving master, I am unable to describe your glory. I don’t know anything, all that I will
say will be your benevolence.]
Assembled equally respectable sadhus, gentlemen, venerable mothers and devoted sisters!
There should be a particular goal of our lives. Who does make a goal in his life; he also does the corresponding functions. He
molds himself in such a way that he would achieve that goal. The person who lives without any goal in his life, his position is
same way as of the rudderless boat. Who knows in which swirl that rudderless boat would sink or would be crushed after
colliding with any rock? Same way, getting stumbled again and again, the aimless humans sinks in the whirlpool of failures
and disappointments.
As we are assembled here from here and there, we have only one aim, to learn about devotion to the God so that we would
achieve the God, we would find the supreme sovereign lord. For the same purpose we listen to the holy discourses, also get
initiation from the master; but realizing the God is too far to accomplish, even his light also is not seen. Until we are not brave,
the goal can’t be achieved. Who is brave? Sant Kabeer Sahib has said:
[Who fights with bow and arrow is not brave. The brave are those who are able to quit the subjects of senses and pay
devotion to the God]
One child is sleeping. His mother is working. His sleep breaks down and he cries. The mother sends her elder daughter to
soothe her younger brother. His elder sister tries to soothe him but he keeps crying. She gives him a toy, he plays with that. For
quite a while he was engaged in that and then he threw that and starts crying. Now his sister gives some sweet. The child eats
the sweet. For some time he finds interest in those sweets and then he leaves that and starts crying. His sister tries to lift him in
her lap but he cries more and throws his hands and legs. Now that child has only goal and that is to cry for his mother. Neither

he takes toy nor sweet, nor does he go to his sister’s lap. Now what can the poor mother do? She leaves all the works and come
to feed him the elixir-form milk. Sant Kabeer sahib said to leave the subjects of senses. Until we wouldn’t leave those subjects,
we can’t achieve the lord of all these subjects.
When we pursue some devotion and meditation, deliver discourses, then people would say that such-and-such fellow is very
much devoted; he follows true companionship and delivers good discourses too. Hearing all these, we become so happy. As if
the elder sister would have given the toy. For good delivery of discourses, the devotees would start touching your feet in
addition to praising. Our pride grew up more as if elder sister has given the sweets. And we started tasting them. After feet-
touching and all, they started putting worship and alms as if you sat in the lap of your illusionary sister. Now sitting in the lap of
illusion you started collecting money and prestige keeping the God aside. If the child would get satisfied in his sister’s lap then
what for the mother would come? Then would he get that mother’s milk in his sister’s lap? He will never get. Just as that, the
benefit what we would have got getting the God, would we be benefited by getting the illusions? Never ever! Until we are
bounded around in illusions, how will we meet the lord of illusions? If there will be attachment with illusions then there will be
detachment towards the lord and when there would be detachment from illusions then there would be attachment towards
the lord. Therefore if you want to find the father of all these illusions i.e. creator of subjects of all your senses, you need to
leave those illusions. Whosoever leaves them is known as brave.

[Brave never run away from the war, who runs away are not brave. There inside you is the bloody battle between you and
your sex, anger, pride and greed. Truth, modesty, and contentment becomes royal there, the brave who possess them they
win there. This kabeer is saying that the crowd of those cowards runs away immediately. ]

[The water in this world-form ocean is bottomless. A complete master is the boatman. Boat is made of words; some braves
can board on it. ]
The one who board on such word-form boat, are top braves. But word is too far. Before that word, the point will come. Our
holy master says:
[Point and word will guide you to get along. They will make you tour in the realm of lights and sounds.]
What we call point? We call the smallest sign a point, which can’t further divided. This does locate but doesn’t have dimension.
To catch such point, we will have to make our mind that much finer. The door of devotion is narrow. Unless our mind will be
finer enough, we can’t hold that point to enter into that door. If we can’t hold that point, then how can we hold even finer and
form-less lord? Till our mind is playful and profane, we can’t even meditate the face of the deity, holding that point will be far
from accomplishing.
Why can’t we meditate the face of our deity? In rainy days when river Ganges gets flooded, the water gets dirty. After those
days over the water gets cleaner and even after some more days it gets pure. Till the time the water remains dirty, we can’t see
our image in it. But when that water becomes pure, then we can see our image in it. Just as that, till our mind would be
profane, from where the image of the deity would come? How would we see his face? When the filth of mind would settle
down and it will turn pure, then we will see the image of deity. Lord SriRam has said:

[People with pure mind will find me. I don’t like guiles, deceits and all that.]
Now let’s judge ourselves, let’s peep inside us to know that how far our mind is sacred. There is guile or deceits in our mind or
not? The more the sacredness would come into our heart, the more we will be able to see the image of our deity; will be able
to meditate the face of our deity.
You visit some coal mine. You will see that the laborers take out the coal sitting in the pit and carry the coal putting on head.
Tell him to sit on the pile of coal. He will sit. But if you will tell the officer there in the same mine to sit on that pile, will he sit?
He will not sit. His body and clothes are clean. There should be clean chair and better place, and then he will sit. Just as that,
our heart is black like that coal and we wish to call our holy master to seat and visit. How is it possible?
Who would be fortunate, he only can view his deity inside him. Can he be so fortunate who is surrounded with the impurities
like sexual desire, anger etc.? Who maintains distance from such impurities, they only become fortunate. We should be safe
from such disorders, then only the sin would destroy and deity will be viewed. But nothing like this is happening. Let’s fumble
our heart to know that how we were before we got initiation. The day we got it, how was our mind on that day and since that
day till today, how our mind continues to be? Whether we are rising or falling? If you are progressive, then it’s all right, you are
on the track, and one day you will achieve the goal. If mind is not clean, not sacred; various passions and fantasies keep
coming into it, if mind suffer from disorders, then we are moving towards fall. Then no matter how diligently we try, we can’t
achieve the goal. Our endeavors are applied in other direction, then how will we find the gemstone? Therefore, if you want to
find the goal, you will have to make yourself accordingly. Otherwise you will not move forward; not even equal to the tip of
hair. Let’s clean up our heart then only the sacred face of our holy master will come inside us. What to do for it?
[Do chant in mind the name of the master; meditate the holy face of the master with full determination. We should practice
them first so that our mind will be sacred]
After that, by doing yoga by means of sight (i.e. Drishtiyog) and the yoga by means of inner sound (i.e. Nadanusandhan), we
can go near our lord. For the same reason, you all god-seekers have come here from here and there leaving your home and
families, works and professions. So staying here, live such a way that the goal would be achieved. Keep your goal always in
front. The time that you find after discourse and meditation sessions, instead of talking about here and there, use that for
studies and services. If you will elapse your time like this, then you will surely progress. Now I break my speech.

All the creatures want to have this body, after all what is specialty of this body? He only further said:
[नरक सग अपवग िनसेनी | ान वराग भगित सुख दे नी | |]
[There are three stairs in human body which leads to hell, heaven and salvation. This body enables to have the pleasure of
knowledge, stoicism and devotion.]
Inside this body there are three stairs: 1) a stair leading to hell 2) a stair leading to heaven and 3) a stair leading to salvation.
This is the specialty of human body. Now it depends on you that which stair you opt and where you wish to go. The bodies of
other animals and birds are devoid of these stairs. Those lives are enjoyment-oriented. Ours is karma-oriented. We can make
our future by good karmas, and spoil it by bad karmas. If all our karmas would be propitious, we normal men would be great
men. The other side, if all our karmas would be maleficent or untoward then we even would be turned to monsters. You may
question that being a human how can it be turned to a monster by performing bad karmas? Then question is: don’t you know
2
about Ravana ? He born in a Brahmin family, father and forefathers all were sages and seers, but he caught in bad
companionship, food-habits spoiled, मांस खाय और म दरा पाना -- he began to have flesh and alcohols and abduct ladies.
His character spoiled and wisdom corrupted. What was the fallout? Though he born in a Brahmin family he called as monster
and was killed along with his family. No one remained even to cry for him. Our behavior is the begetter of our future. So let’s
try to consider that whether we are living like human being or like an animal. Rather than that are we going even down?
Tending to become great men or monster?
Our best achievement would be: “जानत तु ह ह तु ह ह होइ जाई “i.e. “knowing divine becoming divine”. We would view
the God and we would become divine. In this karma oriented life, whatever we wish, we can achieve with karma.
In Christianity, human body has been called as ‘Crown of creation’. Even after having such a beautiful and fortunate body,
we are facing pains, and feeling helpless. What is the reason behind this? We have got this body in effect but we are unaware of
its utility. Even if we know, we never behave accordingly. In this way, getting this body is same as not getting it. Let’s suppose
someone would luckily got five acres of land and he would never go to till it and he would die out of hunger and thirst. Then
what good happened to him if luckily he got that land? Having land and not having any land remained same. Isn’t it? If we got
the key of a beautiful house by luck and we never slept there inside and rather we slept outside on a cot. If we died out of cold
without using that house, then getting that house out of luck was same as without any house. When you have got this beautiful
body then better you please know its utility and utilize it.
There was a poor man, laboring too hard but he was not getting sufficient food to eat. It was too much difficulty running the
family. One mahatma was crossing along that way for alms. He arrived at his door but he felt so pity to look at his poverty. That
mahatma came back his shack after a round for alms and then he started thinking about that poor man. He thought that poor
man is so impoverished, and in trouble, he should help him. His own sustenance was depended on alms even though he felt
pity on him. This is what the nature of saint is. He thought of doing some beneficence. He began to think what to do, nothing is
there with him. He remembered that one day he saw a philosopher’s stone on a river bank. Thinking that people would fell into
greed for that and they would begin quarrelling amongst them, he dug the earth there to put that and had covered that with
soil. He thought if that stone would be there then he will give that stone to that poor man. His poverty will be over. It has been
said that the Iron if touched by philosopher’s stone, it turns into gold. Honorable mahatma went and found that stone to give
him. While giving that to him he told: “Take this philosopher’s stone. Keep it carefully. Now all your pain and hardship will be
over” and then that mahatma went.
After a few months that mahatma thought to visit his place to see their condition. He reached there and saw that their hut
was in same condition. That man was nowhere looked around. When he asked about him then people told that he was ill inside
there since long time back and that he was dying out of hunger and medicine. Mahatma went inside and saw he was lying on a
cot. Mahatma asked him that what he had used of that stone he had given to him. He told that as you said to keep that
carefully, I kept that in that box. Mahatma surprised to learn that the box which he was showing him was made up of iron. But
still it was of iron only, why the stone didn’t act! He asked to see how he kept that. Because of long term illness he went there
somehow staggering, opened that iron box and was taking out that stone which he had kept carefully wrapped around with
cloth. After taking out from cloth he was about to show that stone but as his hand shaken out of weakness, that stone left from
his hand and fell into that box and entire iron box turned into golden box. Out of exclamation he asked: “What is this
happened?” Mahatma said, “It’s now gold and all that gold is yours”. He was already ill. As soon as he knew he owned that
much gold, he fainted out of happiness and died. That gold did nothing good to him.

[Everything is there in this world. Indolent humans are not getting them.]
This story gives us a message. After having philosopher’s stone he would have become the richest. But as he could not know its
importance, his life ended in poverty. Just as that, with utmost luck, we have this human body, but we don’t know how to make
use of it. In lack of knowledge we are in plight. Ram, the divine, is inside us, and we, the soul are part of it, but still we are
wandering here and there out of pains and hardships. The God owns all and we have become slave of situations. Some devout
has very well said:
[Getting stuck in the web of subjects of your senses, you have become the pauper. Though you own everything you are
roaming here and there. You have tied your leg with the chain of diverse desires. Now you weep and cry when you face the
pain. ]
We say with our mouth that if we would get freedom, but we keep on tying trammels of materialism one over the other.
Just think that if we will be tied, then there would be sufferings of happiness? No one would ever be happy in bondage. Sant
Radhaswami Sahab has said:
[First bondage which has been put on us is our body, second one is the wife. Third one is son and fourth is you grandson. If
there will be grandson’s grandson then say where will you stay? The riches, the properties and palace are all I describe as
trammels. ]
If we want to get rid of sorrows and the slavery of situations, then never put on any new trammels of attachments, and try to
get rid of old trammels. With the strength of our efforts we can create our fortune. Lord Buddha has said:’ Humans are owner
of their own, who else can be his owner?’ Lord Sriram has suggested the way to be freed from bondages. He said, “There is a
door for salvation inside this body”. We will have to notice that door and enter into that. We know about nine doors in our
body which are filled with uncleanness. How any of these doors could be the door to freedom. The precept of Sadguru
Maharshi mehi paramhans Ji maharaj is:
[Leave the unclean nine doors of the body and ascend through the tenth door and get the pleasure.]
3 4 5
Tenth door is the door to salvation and the place for happiness. This is also the junction of Ida , Pingla and Sushmna . In
GyanSankaliniTantra, it is said that:
There are three principal pulses namely Ida, Pingla and Sushumna, are there inside this body which are called as Ganga,
Yamuna and Saraswati respectively. The junction of these three is called ‘triveni’ - the best pilgrimage. By taking bath into it
we get rid of all our sin.
Taking shower in outer ‘triveni’ doesn’t cleanse our sin, but internal triveni makes us sacred like the God. And then the God also
becomes accessible. This is the ultimate achievement of human life. For this, virtue, true companionship and meditation
practices are needed.

Eternal Cult
- Swami Vivekanand
This unique idea of viewing the religion or God is specially found only in india. नायमा मा वचनेन ल यो न मेधया न बहु ना त

i.e. No one can find this soul by his vocal power or by his efficient wisdom or either by too much of reading the scriptures. Not
only that , but it’s also true that only our scriptures is there in the world which declares that no one can achieve this soul by
reading the scriptures or by talks or either by explanations; but it should be realized. The disciple gets the way to realize it from
his master. When a disciple develops inner sight, then everything becomes clear to him and he becomes able to experience the
soul’s manifestations.
In Bengal there is a weird prevalence. That is family-master practices. That means: “My father was your master, now I will
become your master. My father was the master of your father so I am your master!” Whom should we call master? In this
context the veda-advised meaning says that the masters are those who understand the esoteric mystery of Vedas, no
bookworms, no grammarians, and no renowned scholars. But those are masters who know what the Vedas really imply. The
state of scholars is like: “like the ass that carries the weight of sandalwood knows only about the weight of sandal but not
about its precious values.” Such people are not at all needed. If they themselves have not achieved the religion then what big
can they preach us? When I was young in this Calcutta city, I used to go here and there for religious education, and after

listening to big lecture, I used to ask to Mr. Speaker, “Have you seen the God”. They used to wonder on hearing the term God-
visitation. Only honorable Shriramkrishn was there who told me yes, I have seen the God. Not only that but he also said, that I
can bring you also on that track to visit the God. Only by drawing the meaning of scriptures by breaking and twisting the
sentences in it at the discretion of oneself, one can’t become the master.
[The skills to lecture on scriptures by all means are just for the entertainment of scholars, not for salvation.]

Who understands the mystery of Vedas, who is sinless, to whom the sexual desires have not ever touched, who doesn’t expect
any wealth gain after educating you, they are sants, they are sadhus. Just as spring comes and turn all plants and trees green
with leaves and buds, but never ask for any return; because doing well is its nature and same way that comes.
[They themselves have gone to other side of this gruesome world-form ocean, and without any expectation of gain they also
make others cross it.]

Only such a human is master, and keep in mind, no other can be said to be master. Because:
[Having been sunk in the darkness of ill knowledge, thinking themselves as sensual and great scholars out of ego, such fool
wants to help others, but they use to walk through devious tracks only. Like a blind that walks holding the hand of another
blind, these master and disciple both fall into pit.]

This is what the dictum of Vedas is. Match this dictum with current practices. You are the followers of Vedas, You are true
Hindu, You believe in the traditionalist religion. I want to make you more traditionally religious. As much as you will execute this
eternal cult, as much you will become wise and as much as you will be caught in today’s fundamentalisms, as much you will be
fool. You follow that same ancient eternal ways, because in all the words of the scriptures of those times, there is impression of
strong, stable and honest hearts, all those tones are infallible. After this the nation began to fall—in crafts, in science, in
religion, in all the subjects, national deterioration began. Now there is no time to discuss on the reasons for that, but the books
which has been written in those deteriorating times, in all those, we find the proofs of the same complaints and national fall—
instead of national vigor only the sounds of crying is being heard from them. Go, go—and bring the feel of ancient times, when
there was valor and life in national body. Be virile again, drink the water of same old fount—this is the only way to revive India.
Our personality as having faith in monotheistic, which currently exists, is just the confusion. For whole world to take on this
is very difficult. As soon as you say someone that he is not a ‘person’, he gets afraid as if his personality how good that may be,
would finish. But the monotheistic, they say that the thing like ‘personality’ never exists. You are getting changed every
moment. When you were kid your way of thinking were different, now you are grownup, now you think in a different way, and
when you will become old, your will think in a different way. Every person keeps changing. If it is true then where does your
personality remained? This I-ness or self-individuality neither remains in context of body, nor of mind and nor it remains
relating to opinions. And monotheists say that this soul itself is divine. Two infinite can’t exist. Only one person is there which
exists as infinite-form. In fact, we are thoughtful beings and we want to resort to logic. Okay, then what does this logic or tactic
means? That is modulating classification. Comparing matters respectively from higher class to higher class and at the end
reaching to such a class above which that matter doesn’t exist. Any bounded object can find rest for ever only when it would be
made to attain the unbounded being. You take any bounded object and keep on analyzing it, but until you are not making that
object reach up to the ultimate class or infinity, you can’t get peace, and monotheists say that there is only existence of this
infinite being and rest all are illusions, no other thing has any elemental existence. Take any of the insentient objects; the real
existence inside them is the same divine. We are same divine and our names, forms and all that are illusions. If you remove the
names and forms then you, I and all will become one. You should understand the word “I” in a proper way. More often people
say, “If we are divine, then whatever we wish, why can’t we do?” Here the word divine has been used in a different meaning.
When you are taking yourselves as bounded, then you are no more the soul-form divine, which doesn’t have any insufficiency,
which is the inner light. That is the God inside you, that’s self saturated, that doesn’t have any desire, that doesn’t have any
wishes, that’s completely fearless and completely independent. That is divine. In that same divine-form, we are all one.
