The mission is what individuals do to make the vision a reality. It is a question of how (mission)
vs why (goal) (vision).

indicates the distinct and compelling long-term planned change from institutional programmes. It
is a one-sentence statement. With an average length of 14 words, the vision statement should be
clear, memorable, and concise. The shortest one includes just three words. The longer one can
contain up to 26 words. A mission statement is a unilateral statement referring to the intention to
exist of an entity. That tells you what you are doing or for whom you are doing so. A mission

actions of students should all fall within the organization's goal. Since the vision statement is an
end in itself or not, it is not an effective tool to control different individuals' conduct and day-to-
day expectations. It allows people to gain nonetheless an idea what the institution is hoping to do
as a team. The vision is constantly forward-looking and hence cannot be utilized for an
institution’s everyday activities.
