What’s In
The previous lesson was all about the basic information of the sport table tennis. The
activity that enjoyed the most was the assessment activity where I had the chance to interview
my father who is a table tennis athlete. The previous lesson is important to me because I
myself is also an actual competitive table tennis player who once represented the school and
the city, the knowledge that I gained from the lesson will help me to further improve my skills
and to have better results in competitions.

What is It
Questions:
1. How can swimming improves the cardiovascular fitness of a person?
Swimming involves continuous movement of large muscle mass in a low-to-zero gravity
environment that enables your heart rate up, burns fat and improves the body’s ability to
pump oxygen-rich blood to your working muscles, making the sport an excellent
cardiovascular activity.
2. Discuss how swimming relatively helps in preventing injury.

Engaging in swimming makes your muscle and joints to be properly conditioned and it
greatly increases your body flexibility, thus, it relatively helps in preventing injury to
happen in a person’s body.

A person can be more effective and efficient with his/her tasks, given the fact that
his/her body is physically fit because of engaging with health-related physical activities,
thus, a person can do more and work more with the things he/she are bound to do.
What I Have Learned
1. A person can improve its cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, muscular strength,
body flexibility, and body composition which are all essential in keeping a body healthy.

2. Based on my personal capacity the stroke that I can manage to master is the freestyle
stroke because it is the most practical one and is vital in emergency water survival
situations.

3. In engaging to any sports, it is very important to have a strong foundation, and that is to
know and master the basic skills and concepts of a certain sport because basic skills will
be very helpful in acquiring advance skills, thus, in swimming it is very relevant to learn
and practice the basic skills first rather than directly proceeding to the complex ones.

4. Yes, swimming has been always a part of my life since I grew up in a family that loves
spending leisure time at the beach or pool parks. Since I was a kid, I grew up fond in the
water because it makes me feel at ease and relaxed, thus, with these reasons I consider
swimming as an important activity in my life.
