Van Leeuwen’s
unique PVF concept
Valves, pipes and fittings: three products playing a vital role in industrial companies all over the world, especially
in process and related industries. With all three products being strongly related, you are quite often helpless if
you are short of one. That makes a supplier you can rely on even more important; a supplier who is able to fulfil
quickly and economically all your needs where valves as well as pipes and fittings are concerned.
Van Leeuwen is agent for many renowned brands and operates in the same unique way customers in every part
of the world have learned to value: delivery mostly from stock with an unrivalled service and extensive technical
assistance. Van Leeuwen experts can assist you in determining the specifications of the valves you need for specific
purposes. Moreover the combination of valves, pipes and fittings means one stop shopping.
Van Leeuwen Buizen is part of Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group, a global distributor in (carbon and stainless)
steel pipe, hollow sections, pipe components and valves. Its various European subsidiaries work closely together
to guarantee their customers an optimum level of service and to provide them with a package of
products and services that is as consistent and comprehensive as possible. The organization
operates in line with the ISO 9002 quality norms.

The “Lip” extension end shown on Page 9-Extended Body represents an economical solution to stocking problems.
In fact, the lip is inserted on the corresponding hole in the run and therefore a valve can be welded on different run
size, independently. On the contrary, this solution creates some problems in welding, expecially when small run sizes
are involved. In these cases, more amount of weld is required to compensate for lack of material in the transverse
section.

1 If materials, fabricated parts and constructions have been manufactured than the producer is able to draw up documents like declarations/
test reports for the confirmation of the manufacturing, inspection and testing. These documents are available for the purchaser.
These documents are split up in different types and are specified in the European standard EN 10204.
This standard replaces the well known German standard DIN 50049 The international standard fully identical is ISO 10474.

programme Pressure Equipment Directive
valves
Technical data
Valves supplied by Van Leeuwen Buizen are CE-marked individually and will meet the requirements of category III
and/or IV of the PED.
On the 29th of May 2002, the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/CE has become mandatory. This European
directive replaces all former national laws regarding pressure equipment. This directive applies to pressure vessels,
pipelines and valves with a pressure of 0,5 bar or more. Pressure equipment that is traded will have to bear a CE mark.
Equipment made for own use does not have to bear this mark, but will also have to fulfill the requirements of the PED.
Detailed information about the PED can be found under the “ped.eurodyn.com” (without the “www”).
