IV. ESSAY (10 PTS.)

Explain the quotations “Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are.” and “It
takes a village to raise a child.” in relation to this subject.

The first quotations it means people judge you or criticize base on people or peers who you
belong with, it depends on how they interact and communicate. If your friends or peer showed negative
characteristic or attitudes people directly think that you are same as your friends. Sometimes the feeling
of sense of belonging in your peers made a positive and negative impact when it comes to intimacy
because peers paved way to deeper relationship that can create emotional and develop closeness
towards romantic relationship. On the other hand, peers with a negative character put you in isolation
which stops you to have deeper relationship to other people because people judge you as they judge
your friends.

The second quotations mean it is really difficult to raise a child because not everyone is capable or
prepared well to be a parent. From the womb, as mother you have to take care yourself to make it sure
that the development of your baby is healthy. Then after you give birth another struggle as a parent to
raise your child to secure child’s growth and development by providing its physical needs, emotional
needs, social needs and etc. Sometimes frustrations leads a parent to seek help from relatives, other
people or even the government to help raise a child if the situation is difficult like single-parent or family
with more children. Being lack substantial needs of child may lead to poor growth and development that
may affect the child progress and maturity. Having children you need to have many resources.
