Sookhe Kale Channe is the perfect recipe for Ashtami and Navami, which is best savoured
with hot pooris and halwa. You can prepare it for the festival of Ram Navami and enjoy the
auspicious day with a wholesome meal. Sookhe kale channe can be made with minimum
efforts by just pressure cooking them and then giving a tadka of spices. You can also add
onions and tomatoes to the tadka to add some extra flavours to the dish. So, try this recipe

Ingredients of Sookhe Kale Channe

• 1 cup kala chana

• 1 medium green chilli

• 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida

• 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder

• 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

• salt as required

• 1 teaspoon grated ginger

• 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

• 1 teaspoon chana masala powder

• 1/2 teaspoon turmeric

• 1/2 teaspoon dry mango powder

• 2 tablespoon vegetable oil

How to make Sookhe Kale Channe

• Step 1 Wash and soak the kale channe


Firstly wash the kale channe and soak them in water for at least 6-8 hours or
overnight.
• Step 2 Pressure cook the channe
Now drain the water and add the channe to the pressure cooker. Add one cup
of water, turmeric, red chilli powder and salt. Cook for two whistles and then
let the pressure come out on its own.

• Step 3 Prepare the tadka


Now heat oil in a kadhai. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Fry for a minute.
Now add dried mango powder, coriander powder, chana masala, chopped
green chilli and grated ginger. Let the masala cook for a minute.
• Step 4 Add the cooked channe
Now add the cooked channe to the kadhai. Cook for a few minutes until the
remaining water has evaporated.
• Step 5 Serve with poori and halwa
Serve the sookhe kale chane with hot poori and halwa for a wholesome meal.
