Dire Werk General Hospital Project is a philanthropic initiative of Obsidia Industrial and Trading
PLC that aspires to help the underprivileged section of the society to avail quality health services
at affordable cost. This hospital project is working to set up a 250 bed General Hospital with a
multidisciplinary approach to healthcare services. The proposed location of the hospital is
in Dire Dawa City.

Our proposed hospital will serve the nearby by Countries, Region, Cities. where there are no
Such kinds of General Hospital. The hospital will offer affordable and quality services for patients.

Our hospital is projected to serve roughly about 446,376 out-patients and 49,504 in-patients
annually. The hospital is aimed at serving the need of the community and will be run on a low
profit basis.

The project involves construction of a 250 bed General Hospital in Dire Dawa city which
would also cover all nearby country (East Africa), all Ethiopians regions (stats), cities and villages
of this block where there are no such kinds of health care Hospitals. The hospital will offer affordable
and quality services for patients. The commencement of hospital in Dire Dawa would enable
easy access to patients in the area and nearby regions.

The hospital is estimated to have a built up area of about 20,000 square meter of land, at an
estimated total project cost of Birr 525,000,000.00 that is to be funded by Obsidia Industrial
and Trading PLC and bank loans, shareholders and others. The hospital will cater to the needs
of the patients with 20 Out-Patient Consultation Rooms, 1 Emergency Department, 6 Operation
Theatre, 4 Procedure room, 4 Delivery Rooms, 2 Family planning and immunization department,
1 Laboratory Department, 1 ENT department, 1 ophthalmology department, 1 dermatology
departments, 1 Radiology Department, 1 Dialysis unit, 1 Gastroenterology unit, 1 Cardiac surgery
(catlab) department and 250 In-Patient Beds.

This general hospital project is expected to be completed and ready for operations within two
years from the commencement of the project. There is a need for a modern hospital providing
affordable treatment to bridge the demand gap that is currently not fully addressed by the
existing government, non-governmental organization and social sector.

This Hospital is owned by Obsidia Industrial and Trading PLC which is a

non-governmental, not political organization established in the year 2013 by a group of great
and dedicated business workers and educationists of tremendous vision as response to the
general mass and deprived population. Obsidia Industrial & Trading PLC is focused on
social welfare activities aimed at alleviation of human suffering and all- round development of
the community especially for the poor, helpless & weaker sections children, youth and women
through relevant education, innovative healthcare and market-focused livelihood program.

sector . It is a new starting company, aiming to become competetive and a world class server

Building, oil refining and meat processing. Our head quarter is located in Addis Ababa but

The 250 bed General Hospital facility is proposed to come up in Dire Dawa is located on the Eastern
edge of the East African Rift Valley, 30 miles (48 km) northwest of Harar. It lies at the intersection of
roads from Addis Ababa, Harar, and Djibouti. Dire Dawa is city in Harar region, Ethiopia. Dire Dawa
was founded in 1902 when the railroad from Djibouti reached the area, and its growth has resulted
largely from trade brought by the railroad. It is one of the two federal cities in Ethiopia and is called
queen city of the desert. Different ethnic groups live in this city and there is high human mobility
from neighboring countries like Djibouti and Somalia and from different parts of the world.
Dire Dawa's 2020 population is now estimated to be 408,096.

Dire Dawa city is located at a distance of 515 km east of Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia.
It is located in Shenile somali, Ethiopia Africa, at 9°35’35”N and 41°51’57”E with an altitude of 1191
masl.
