The Katipunans Cry
Some of the Filipinos are confused about the Katipunan's Cry. Some think that the
Katipunan’s Cry happened in the Balintawak and some think it happened in
Pugadlawin. The objective of the Katipunan’s Cry is to fight for the freedom of the
Filipinos against the Spaniards. The term Cry is reffered to the clash between the
katipuneros and the civil guards. It is also refer to the tearing up the community tax
certificates or what we call now “ Cedula”. Lt. Olegario Diaz stated that the cry took
place in Balintawak on August 25, 1896 but for Teodoro Agoncillo his based is from
account of Pio Valenzuela that emphasized that the cry happened in Pugad Lawin.
According to Lt. Olegario Diaz an officer of the Spanish Guardia Civil that the
Cry took place in the Balintawak on August 25, 1896.
According to 1925 book “ The Filipino Revolution” by Teodoro Kalaw that the
