Ball valves torque is an important parameter, so many people are concerned about the problem valve torque calculation. As for the valve torque calculation
method.Valve torque calculation specifically: half valve diameter (D) × 3.14 square draw valve plate area (A), and then multiplied by the bearing pressure (P) (ie,
the valve working pressure) to bear draw axes static pressure, multiplied by the coefficient of friction (steel friction coefficient 0.1, the friction coefficient of steel
to rubber 0.15), multiplied by the shaft diameter (d) divided by the torque of the ball valve 1000 is in units of Nm (Nm) ,

Note: The electric and pneumatic actuators reference value takes safety valve torque of 1.5 times.
Ball valve design, the selection of the actuator is by estimate, basically divided into three parts:
1)The seal friction torque (ball and seat)
2)Filler valve stem friction torque
3)The bearing friction torque of the stem
Therefore, the calculated pressure is generally 0.6 times the nominal pressure (about working pressure), the friction coefficient depending on the material given.
