Characters
The Aviator: An adult who is not comfortable with his contemporaries, and prefers to tour the
world on his plane, thus moving away from contact with older people.
The Little Prince: The only inhabitant of a small asteroid, whose greatest pleasure is
watch the sunsets, take care of your baobab tree and clean the craters of two tiny
volcanoes. Its routine existence is interrupted with the arrival and flowering of the Flower,
which she comes to love him, but she does not initially understand.
La Flor: A rose of great beauty and charming personality, although quite proud and
somewhat
selfish, he wants the Little Prince to dedicate himself only to her.
The King: Character desirous of power, no matter what or who. Define your relationship with
people and with things like power relationships, in which he remains at the top,
although the only visible result is total solitude.
The Vain: Character hungry for recognition and cheers, even when these are
empty. He does not care if the admiration that the other profess him is sincere or not, the
important thing
for him it is to hear the applause and the praises, they come from where they come. The
only result is that,
after the sound of the last applause, the vain is left alone and so hungry for admiration
as at the beginning.
The drinker: This character drinks to forget that he is ashamed to drink. Does it symbolize
being human given to vice, for having given up being the owner of himself, perhaps out of
fear.
The businessman: Character dedicated to doing addition, subtraction and calculations on the
stars,
thus obtaining an economic benefit, although neglecting their health and emotional life.
The Lamplighter: Is dedicated to lighting the stars. Although it fulfills a useful function for
others, its acts lack reflection, because they are carried out by the pure duty to fulfill them.
He just does a duty, and although it is apparently good or useful, their actions are irrelevant,
even to the same.
The Geographer: A scholar who has dedicated his existence to knowledge, regardless of its
application practice. Perhaps it represents the radical technolatrist, the one who has deified
science and technique, without reflecting that knowledge is not an end in itself, but a means
to achieve other truly human goals.
The fox: Contradictory animal, is a character as much or more interesting than the Little
Prince. Appears as a carefree and perhaps selfish being, but aware of his ability to love. By
knowing to the Little Prince, he decides to leave his primitive or wild (and lonely) nature to
become a friend of the Little Prince; or to use his own terms, he allows himself to be “tamed”.
He is the author of the memorable phrase "Only looks good with the heart, the essential is
invisible to the eyes."
The snake: The most ambiguous character in history. He is the only one who can make the
Little prince return to his world, but at the cost of a terrible sacrifice. His acts seem to be
more beyond good and evil, and it is expressed in an enigmatic way.
The guard: Character whose job is to regulate the transport of passengers on trains.
The merchant: He is a seller of pills to suppress thirst, which he offers as something useful,
because they supposedly save the time that is wasted in the act of drinking.
