GMOs for commercial applications

Genetic engineering produces genes and genetic materials that threaten to pollute
existing genetic pools worldwide. It's started. If an organism has received a foreign gene-now a
GMO (genetically modified organism) it has become a permanent source of genetic infection
and pollution and GMO refers to any living organism that has changed its DNA using genetic
modification. It may be a plant, animal, including humans, or a bacterium that is commonly used
to implement genetic engineering. desirable trait to the organism, such as increased fruit or
tolerance to drought.

At first, when I heard GMOs the first thing that came in my mind is that it is not organic
therefore it unhealthy therefore, I’m not in favor of GMOs because first, about our Biodiversity
Where they are cultivated, GM crops dominate broad surface areas and are connected to
intense monoculture systems that wipe out other crops and habitats. Growing only one form of
corn for human consumption would mean a reduction in flavors, conventional awareness, and
food security.

Second, they said that GMOs fever chemicals but There is no permanent protection in
species, for both the host and the pathogen. Pests – from viruses to bacteria, insects to
nematodes – establish biological specialization, which ensures that tolerance can be
established in the genes of these pests through continuous mutation. On the part of the host
plant or animal, there is something called the genetic decline" and there are also affected. GM
crops fall into one of two categories: either engineered to tolerate chemical herbicides or
engineered to produce insecticides themselves. When herbicides are used in resistant crops,
weeds develop resistance over time leading to the use of even more pesticides. Crops bred to
manufacture insecticides, on the other hand, produce toxins that are not only toxic to pests but
also other insects such as butterflies, moths, and insect pollinators.

Third, Threat to Small-Scale Farmer's GM crops denounces the position of farmers who
have always improved and picked their seeds. GM seeds are held by multinationals to whom
the farmer must switch every new season because, like all commercial hybrids, GMOs of the
second generation do not yield good results. Farmers are also prohibited from attempting to
develop the variety without paying expensive royalties.

They said that GMOs can Conservation With genetic modification, we could be able to
spread extinct species beyond their natural environment and even awaken the sleeping genius
in the DNA of long-lost species but Nature has a way of protecting ancient creatures. Blue-
green algae like Spirulina are three billion years old and have been largely unchanged.

Lastly, increased allergenic tendencies, toxicity, or altered nutritional value may occur in
GMOs. They may also show mutations, which are errors that may exist in the sequence or
reading of DNA within a cell. Altering regulatory functions can lead to the development of new
components or modification of existing components of an organism. The risks of GMOs to
sustainability, food quality, human and animal welfare and the need for a ban on releases to the
ecosystem in compliance with the precautionary principle and GE is not the safest way to
increase food production. It does not increase yields; it endangers the environment, and it does
not alleviate suffering in developing nations.
