TIBAGAN HIGH SCHOOL

SUPREME STUDENT GOVERNMENT

BRIGADA ESKWELA NARRATIVE REPORT

The Brigada Eskwela for the school year 2020-2021 could be one of its kind

since its commencement in 2003. Almost all the activities prepared by the Brigada

Eskwela coordinator Mr. Bonnie Jay Taguinod in cooperation with the school’s Supreme

Student Government (SSG) under the guidance of Mr. Emmanuel Mamaril, have been

made virtually. This was all brought about by the CoVid 19 pandemic which affected the

education sector all around the globe, the Philippines not excluded. As a result, the

theme for this year’s Brigada Eskwela is “Bayanihan 2020: Oplan Balik eskwela at

Brigada Eskwela.”

Upon the first suspension of classes on March 10, 2020 which was expanded

until April, 2020 in compliance with the community quarantine guidelines by the

government, most schools have turned to online approach of communicating with the

students and the different stakeholders of education. When the Department of

Education announced the opening of classes to be on August 24, which was then

deferred to a later date of October 5, the school had been very much active in providing

webinars to its stakeholders. The topics included mental health awareness, supporting

parents as learning facilitators, a walk through on the different learning

modalities in times of pandemic, and many more.

With the idea of continuing education amid the pandemic, the school had its

preparations well-crafted by following its Learning Continuity Plan which ensures the

delivery of quality education in the safest way possible. This began with the virtual

opening of the The Brigada Eskwela on (date) through Google Meet which was

attended and participated by (number of participants) and was a true success. After

its well conducive place for learning.

Overall, the Brigada Eskwela for this year is truly different from its predecessors.

But the pandemic did not stop the Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, the SSG Adviser, and

the rest of the Tibagan High School community in delivering and showcasing the real

spirit of Bayanihan in the education sector. Still many have shown interest and
attended the webinars and programs headed and conducted by the program

coordinators. The overflowing support of the speakers to the programs were also

evident during the entire conduct of the Bigada Eskwela program. The school may be

facing the challenges of the new normal, but the spirit of Bayanihan never stops to

kindle.
