OIL SYSTEM LINE UP
• Tank level is adequate.
• All the bearings are boxed up.
• Keep at least one oil vapor exhauster fan in service.
• Filters and coolers are lined up.
• Oil to be charged with DCEOP .
• Switch ON DCEOP. Establish oil flow. ( DCEOP will not stop
from remote as it is hard wired.)
• Ensure there is no oil leakage.
• Start one AOP.
• Open the governing rack isolating valve at 17m.
• Check if lube oil pressure and control oil pressures are
adequate.
• Observe return oil flow, from the bearings.
• Start JOP. Ensure jacking oil pressure is adequate.(above 55
ksc)
WATER SYSTEM LINEUP
• Charge the seal water cooling line for both
booster pump and main pump.
• Check seal cooler and magnetic filter line up.
• Close drains in suction, discharge and
recirculation line and keep the vents open.
• Open manual valve in recirculation line.
• Ensure Recirculation control valve is in open
condition.
• Open the suction valve bypass line. Close the
vents after water starts coming out. (Booster
p/p, main pump and suction strainer vents.)
• Open the suction valve and observe buildup
of discharge pressure.
• Take the BFP on barring at 1 ksc discharge
pressure.
• Open Superheater and reheater spray line
isolation valve.
STEAM SYSTEM LINEUP
• Open the motorized valve(ASV-1) in the
APRDS supply line to TDBFP.
• Open the motorized drain(ASV-104) to LP
flash tank.
• Ensure seal and leak steam control and
bypass valves are operative beforehand.
• Monitor seal steam temperature rise.
• Open the exhaust valve bypass line to
condenser and keep a watch on condenser
vacuum. Wait till the TDBFP exhaust
pressure becomes equal to condenser
vacuum.
STEAM SYSTEM LINEUP
cont…
• Open the manual valve of seal
steam at 8.5m.
• Charge the seal steam and start
opening the inching exhaust valve
EXV-25 simultaneously so that
condenser vacuum doesn’t
deteriorate.
• Ensure extraction line motorized(
EXV-15,Common to both TDBFP) is
open.
• Open Extraction manual valve at
8.5m.
TDBFP ROLLING
• Reset the turbine.
• Both trip solenoids closes and trip oil pressure builds up.
• Ensure main control valve and ACV are fully closed.
• Ensure casing drain to LP flash tank are open.
• Open the ESV.
• Put the speed controller in AUTO.
• Raise speed reference to 1500 RPM. Speed will start rising.
• Observe barring valve closes and JOP stops at set values of speed.
• Soak the turbine at 1500 RPM. Observe temperature rise of casing.
• Extraction steam from CRH can now be lined up by opening CRHV-1.
• After proper soaking and with sufficient casing temperature , further rolling
and loading can be done.
Caution:-
• Exhaust valve opening and seal steam charging is the most critical
activity of TDBFP rolling. Exhaust valve to be opened in coordination
with the operator who is manned at exhaust valve at local keeping a
close watch at vacuum.
• A diaphragm is provided in the exhaust line of TDBFP. Make sure
diaphragm is healthy before opening of exhaust valve.
• Turbovisory parameters to be watched during the rolling.
• Manual valve at deaerator floor must be open before rolling.
