    DISPERBYK-101 N
    Wetting and dispersing additive for solvent-borne systems for stabilizing inorganic pigments.

    DISPERBYK-101 N is not available on the US market.

    Composition APEO-free
    Solution of a salt of long-chain polyamine amides and a polar, acidic polyester

    The values indicated in this data sheet describe typical properties and do not constitute specification limits.

    Amine value: 24 mg KOH/g


    Acid value: 28 mg KOH/g
    Density (20 °C): 0.91 g/ml
    Non-volatile matter (10 min., 150 °C): 52 %
    Solvents: Isopar G/propylene glycol 2/1
    Flash point: 40 °C

    Storage and Transportation


    Mix well before use.

    Special Note
    DISPERBYK-101 N is the APEO-free version of DISPERBYK-101.

    Special Features and Benefits


    The additive deflocculates pigments by means of steric stabilization. The small particle size of the deflocculated
    pigments results in higher gloss values and improved color development. Transparency and hiding power are also
    increased and the viscosity of the millbase is reduced. In this way, leveling is also improved and higher pigment
    loading is possible. DISPERBYK-101 N is primarily recommended for stabilizing inorganic pigments.

    Recommended Levels
    Amount of additive (as supplied) based upon pigment:

    Inorganic pigments: 1.5-4 %


    Titanium dioxide: 1-4 %
    Organic pigments: 2-10 %

    The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal dosages are determined
    through a series of laboratory tests.

    Incorporation and Processing Instructions


    For optimum performance, the additive must be incorporated into the millbase before
    addition of pigments.
