    Metal -
    Our "metal" amp tube kit is designed to produce richer, thicker, and
    darker tones. You have the choice between Ruby 6L6's or EL34's, it
    includes a "high gain" preamp tone kit. The Ruby 6L6GCMSTR's
    give you articulate distortion or the Ruby EL34BSTR will give you a
    "wall of sound" and the attack and response needed in metal. Our
    preamp tone kit is all high gain, designed so you can push your
    amp and is as follows:
    V1 - Mullard CV4004(High Gain)
    V2 - Ruby 12AX7ACZ(JJ) HG (High Gain)
    V3 - Shuguang 12AX7B (High Gain)
    V4 - Shuguang 12AX7B (High Gain)
    V5 - Mullard 12AX7 reissue (High Gain)

    Rock / Hard Rock -


    Our "rock" amp tube kit is designed to produce richer, smooth,
    fuller bodied tones. You have a choice between 6L6GC's or EL34's.
    The Tung-Sol EL34B's have a smooth, almost 6L6 like distortion.
    We recommend the Tung-Sol 12AX7 in V1 - it will give the clean
    channel a three dimensional sound. Placing the Penta 12AX7 in V2
    and V3 will give your modern vintage gain channels a little more
    character. Our preamp tone kit will give you the flexability needed
    in rock, and is as followed:

    V1 - Mullard CV4004
    V2 - JJ ECC83
    V3 - Shuguang12AX7B
    V4 - Shuguang12AX7B
    V5 - Mullard 12AX7 reissue

    Whole different amp! Review by Jeremy
    Installed the Metal tube preamp set in my single recto. AWESOME. it came
    with a full set of Mesa Russian (EH) tubes- it was thin & fizzy. Doug's tube
    set is a must to get heavy sounds out of the amp! Couple notes I found
    after lots of rolling. First, I could really go either way for the Tung Sol in V1
    & JJ in V2 vs. swapping the two. The JJ in V1 produces a killer, dark angry
    tone but I think the TS in V1 with it's slight edge may cut through a mix
    better. May play with this some more, glad I have both on hand now.
    Second, I personally ended up with a Mullard in the PI because I wanted to
    darken & heavy the tone up just a little more than the LPS was doing for
    me. I'm very happy with the kit, but if you're looking for just a little more
    darkness you may want to go this way as well. I have a Diavlo head that
    preferred the LPS in the PI (it's a dark amp to start with) so it's all good.

    Just put these tubes in. Sounds great, very, very, clear and as said above
    articulate.
    I haven't played with a drummer yet, but I imagine I'll have no problem
    cutting through even the heaviest hitters.
    The lows are really tight and clear. Chords don't mud up when tuned down.

    These definitely have a lot more "grit" compared to the stock mesa tubes.
    Cleans are spanky.

    Overall pretty stoked.

    Single Rectifier metal kit Review by Rafael


    Just put Doug's Tubes metal tube kit for my Mesa Boogie Single Rectifier,
    biased it accordingly for the power tubes (40ma per power tube).... plugged
    in my guitar..... BAAAM!!! My amp is TIGHT!!!!! Hear that monster
    GROWL!! Awesome selection of preamp/power amp tubes. It is very
    articulate, highs are controlled, LOUD!
