It will start from SOurce location and again it will ends with source location .
like a cyclclic process. it will have the empty shipments
Ground SChedule generates ( before planning) empty shipments with stops at fixed
times which the OTM planning will use to find a matching shipments to assign an
order realase to.
This will mainly be used for fixed truck routes. The schedule will be connected to
an itinerary leg. After releasing the shipment from it's schedule you can assign it
a rate and treat
it as a normal shipment(depending on the Schedule time)

Setup required for DOCK Scheduling is 1)Location Resources 2) Appointment
preferences 3) properties and parameter set
Dock scheduling is about planning the inbound/outbound traffic for distribution
centers. Ensuring DC"s are staffed correctly and kept busy is essential for
productivity.
Carriers have to log on to OTM to see their appointments.
A tender can be for a particular day - the appointment defines the times the DC
can accomadate the load.

Dock appointment can be helpful to 1)reduce the detention charges 2) decrease the
risk of over booking

ERU is used in case where we have a requirement like, a particular equipment should
carry particular number of pallets or our business is going to
consider a particular number of ERU's as one shipment.
The main thing of ERU is, it will allows us to define specific capacity limits. so,
we can define ERU for transport handling units so regardles of how OTM optimizes,
whether for weight,
volume or Both. The ERU servers as a constraint to avoid overloading the equipment.

CAPACITY LIMIT: Navigation-- Operational Planning-->capacity management-->capacity

Capacity limits determines a service provider’s available capacity for accepting a
shipment for transport.
Also, capacity limits can be used to manage service provider inventory of equipment
by data range.
Capacity limits are defined in the planning stage for specific lanes and the OTM
plans the shipments according to the capacity limits set for the service providers.
When a shipment is created, the OTM assigns it to a service provider with available
capacity for the lowest cost.
CAPACITY LIMIT USAGE===> 1)For each capacity limit saved for the capacity group
created, the OTM creates a Capacity usage id with the corresponding data.
2)Capacity usage displays a record for each capacity
limit.
3)When a shipment is created within the capacity time
period, this creates a usage record ID that causes the capacity limit for that
period to decrease by 1.

OTM is shipped with configurable images and web interface themes, which
gives you the ability to easily change colors and logos viewed on Web pages

Rata Factors can be used to in OTM to update volatile rate costs like Fuel
surcharges.
Fuel Surcharge (FSC) is the cost carriers are allowed to add to the normal freight
charges. This helps the carrier offset the constantly fluctuating cost of fuel.
The Index and Frequency (Weekly or Monthly) used is determined by the carrier
contract.
Type of FSC:
----------- Unit Based  Charged based on cost per mile driven ($/mi)
Percent Based  Cost determined as a Percentage of Total Shipment
Cost

Two options exist to link a rate offering or rate record to a rate factor:

- Generate the accessorial directly for the rate offering or rate record.
- Generate an accessorial default, have an accessorial defined on the rate offering
or rate record that links back to the accessorial default.

RATE MAINTENANCE: Navigation--Sourcing-->Rate MAINTENANCE

Rate Maintenance is the iterative process of collecting negotiated rates,
formatting them for OTM, loading them into OTM,editing them and repeating this
process.
Allow to do mass data loading of new rate offering and rate record data.
Rate maintenance process uses a spreadsheet(.xlsx) as the means of downloading and
uploading the rates.
In OTM , it's not possible to create a standard spreadsheet for all rates.
Rate load definition is the first step to determines the format of the customized
spreadsheet.
once Rate load definition has been created, you can either download a blank
spreadsheet or download a spreadsheet containing existing rates in this format.
Then we either populate and/or modify the Excel spreadsheet with rate information
and upload the edited spreadsheet into OTM.
so, Review the Rates for ACCURACY,APPROVE the rates and then FINALIZE the rates so,
they can be used in production.

FLEET MANAGEMENT: Navigation-- Fleet Management

Prepare the master data for drivers,power units, equipment, equipment type,
equipment group.
your capacity definition(weight/volume carrying capacity) for equipment group shold
be correct.
link Equipment, Equipment type, Equipment group correctly.
Link Power units to drivers
Create Asset Inventory location for Equipments
Asset Equipment has buckets for ON HAND, INTRANSIT.
Move Equipment to ON HAND bucket initially.
IN parameter sets, define queries for driver, Equipment and EQUIPMENT types.
Setup Fleet Optimization parameter
