welded tubular products, austenitic stainless steel and similar alloys
ASTM E8 - Standard test methods for tensile testing of metallic alloys.

Material Data

General Requirements

Tubing supplied to this specification shall be manufactured from high quality flat rolled
strip, and shall meet the requirements of ASTM B704, B751 and this specification.

Chemical Composition

The tube material shall conform to the chemical composition limits as detailed in ASTM
B704 Table 1 for UNS N06625.

Dimensions

Tube dimensions shall meet the following requirements:

Outside diameter- +/- 0.005" from nominal
Ovality-0.005" total
Wall Thickness- +/- 15% of nominal for sizes less than 0.500" diameter
+/- 10% of nominal for sizes greater than 0.500"

Heat Treatment

The finished coil2 shall be supplied in the fully annealed condition (temper), at a
temperature between 1600 and 1700 degrees, to achieve a higher yield strength but stay
within ASTM specifications

Mechanical Tests and Requirements

Tensile Test
A section from each individual coil1 shall be tested to ensure conformance to the
following mechanical properties.

Tensile Strength, min. 120,000 psi

Yield Strength, min. 90,000 psi
Elongation in 2 inch, min. 30%
Rockwell HardnessA C 35 max

Note: for thickness under 0.050", the use of Rockwell superficial test is
suggested.
Specimen preparation shall be in accordance with ASTM A 370,
B751 and test method E8.

Flattening Test
A section from one end of each individual coil1 not less than 4 in. long shall be
