Why do you think Mr. Feet may have constipation?

-Mr. Feet may have constipation because as mentioned above Constipation can be
categorized into 3 different types. Functional constipation, which is related to diet,
hydration and level activity. Slow-transit constipation is caused by decreased motility in
gastrointestinal track. Pelvic floor dysfunction is associated with the inability to control
the muscles of the anal sphincter. In the case of Mr. Feet with an age of 84 years old
and currently experiencing a back pain that prevents him from doing his daily activities.
We can now identify that functional constipation related to level of activity is one of the
cause of constipation of Mr. Feet. Plus the drug Co-dydramol that the physician
prescribed for him 10 days ago for his back pain that can cause constipation.

- What sort of laxative do you think Mrs. Feet has been taking? Is this
sort of laxative suitable for Mr. Feet? Explain your answer.
- I think it is Stimulant laxative it can be used to treat constipation. They can be one of
the faster acting types of laxative. Stimulant laxatives work by stimulating intestinal
motility and secretion of water into the bowel. Stimulant laxatives generally take 6 to 12
hours to take effect and may cause abdominal cramping and diarrhea. I think Stimulant
laxative may help Mr. Feet from his constipation as Stimulant laxatives work, for many
people, as an effective treatment for constipation. These laxatives function by causing
the intestinal muscles to rhythmically contract and help push out, or “stimulate” a bowel
movement.

- What lifestyle changes would you recommend Mr. Feet should take?
Create a teaching plan that would address your intended lifestyle
modification for Mr. Feet.
-Mr. Feet is already has an aged, he might not able to continue a healthy life with a
constipation. He should start change his lifestyle eat healthy foods and exercise.
