IDEAS FOR THOUGHT AND STUDY

1. Why is there a need to know the validity and applicability of Rizal’s ideas in
today’s world?

I believe that Rizal’s account abides acknowledgement and high appreciation not
only to his own country, but also to other nations as well. With this for me, there’s really a
must to know and assess the validity and applicability of Rizal’s thoughts in today’s circle of
life. As next to knowing these thoughts, we are able really conquer all the issues of our
nation, make it a much better, a stronger, an improved place to live in and for humankind in
common. Undoubtedly, Rizal’s internationalism or endeavors applied to elevate man’s
conditions, offer assistance our fellowmen and cultivate shared cherish in arrange to
accomplish peace ought to be esteemed and utilized proficiently and viably as these
endeavors were all made for the humankind, came from great want which fair pointed for
the common great, freedom, human rights, equity, correspondence of races, peace and
instruction.

2. Is there justification for spreading the immortal ideas of Rizal in the world?
Why?

I believe that there's indeed a justification for spreading the immortal ideas of

Rizal within the world because especially, humanity is what he worked and aimed on for too
long. He worked hard for it until to the extent of his life was the exchanged of those noble
ideas. Indeed about the commonweal, liberty, human rights, peace and education of all,
whereas this is often how he vision a brand new world. Rizal’s immortal ideas and activities
were for nation-building, his endeavors in developing patriotism, in arousing national
sentiment, in encouraging the individual to remodel himself into a patriotic citizen, in
fostering education, in beseeching the government to push the overall welfare of the
people, and in stimulating national unity weren't ends in themselves. Just indeed a next trail
that we should always take, value and spread to the humanity as these ideas will gear
towards the happiness of the Philippines and ultimately to a brand new world.

3. Explain Rizal’s vision of a new world order.

Rizal’s vision of a new world order concern for a world community. This new order
consists of countries which value fundamental human rights, mainly within the dignity and
value of the human person, within the equal rights of men and ladies. Wherein, the nations
would establish conditions of justice, social progress and better standards of life in larger
freedom. Justice, equality of races, freedom for all peoples, security for all nations,
and mutual affection, these are the principles needed on matters of world-wide interests as
Rizal vision a brand new peace world order. In brief words, he envisioned a world free
from racialism and a world society working toward universal brotherhood, and that
I believed of these insights all came from Rizal’s observations and experiences. Rizal also
highlighted that to possess a new world order the peoples should practice tolerance, live
together in peace, and maintain good relations among themselves.

4. Is the triumph of ‘right” over “brutal force” a necessary condition in building a

new world order? Why?

On Rizal scrutinize of world civilizations and cultures of various peoples, he

expressed ideas on the brotherhood of men. He believed that the triumph of “right’ over
“brutal force” may well be achieved only after a painful struggle. From this, if I'll be asked
about my opinion if right over brutal force may be a necessary condition in building a
new world order, I might decidedly say yes. Patriotism by means of a tyrannical people can
only be a criminal offense, leading for a brutal force, a cold-blooded, sadistic war. On
account of this, Rizal believed that to realize liberty it should get on a tabula rasa, a peaceful
war, wherein right and virtue should prevail over brutal force. Thus, that everything that
came from outrage won't last and can just change into ashes. In relation therewith in
building a new world order, if the triumph of right will govern, I think there'll be a world
peace, wherein all unified collectively, respect races, value human rights and
provides freedom to all or any. Indeed would be a world for all, whereas universal
brotherhood harmonize and contribute a peaceful world which value selflessness than
selfishness. Moreover, I also believe that if all came from the triumph of right, it
symphony are going to be beneficial to any or all, aftermath are noble fruits humanity will
grow and won’t suffer insatiable anymore.

5. How do men make the peace they like best?

Rizal believed and underscored that peace is what men make of it. Peace mainly
contributes a brand new world order, whereas people live their lives in mere and orderly
community. However, he also noted that to create a peace may be a long journey to
overcome as this can undergo ups and downs. Nevertheless, Rizal always looked on the
sunshine of mankind that at the end humanity and peace will prevail in particular. He
contemplated mankind in its immortal march, always progressing, in spite of its fainting and
falls, in spite of its deviations, because that shows its glorious purpose which has been
created for the betterment of mankind. Respecting humanity, justice, equality of races and
freedom for all peoples, these are the vital things that I think can establish peace on each
other. By respecting one's worth and dignity as a personality's, you're not just showing and
valuing equality and equity of races and variety, but also freedom for all, a harmonize
symphony for humanity. Establish not hate, selfishness, and ruthlessness rather creates an
environment of acceptance, love and peace, a universal brotherhood indeed.

6. Why must men embrace one another as friends?

To create a new world order, everyone should communicate, work together,

harmonize, consolidate and embrace each other, and this probably what I feel. These items
are essential in creating a universal brotherhood, a peaceful world wherein everyone can
live their lives just and fullest. My insights were supported by Dr. Jose Rizal’s, “El Amor
Patrio” or Love of Country,” when in fact, he wired men’s duty to embrace each other,
because it could be a duty of mankind which might cause progress and thence to the unity
desired. Embracing each other not just an addict, but a brother to be specific, can indeed
promote high social and economic progress wherein there'll be no racism but acceptance of
everyone’s individuality. Travelling from one country to a different also help men to develop
a universal appreciation of races, as new things and concepts will uncover. Implying that
man in his greatness as he pities him in his wretchedness; the old, blind exclusivity is
converted into a universal and fraternal appreciation of the remainder of the globe. This can
be in support of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights the preamble which states that
it's essential to market the event of friendly relations between nations.

7. Why is religious tolerance essential to world peace?

Religion shouldn't make its people board agony, malice, disunion and war, but rather
real brothers who respect and value beliefs, creeds, and morality of peoples.
Correspondingly, I suppose we will create social and economic progress, a world of peace.
Thus, an excellent respect for the virtuous faith of the adversary whether you've got
different races, education, religion and age, implicates that we are unified, harmonize and
value each other, indeed a real brothers. Neglecting, ignoring and dishonoring a brotherly
approach among any class of men, means we don't truly call upon the father of all which is
God. Hence, also infer that we are mistreating and hurting him, being we’re not abiding his
rule to like each other. Inasmuch as for me, Rizal expect religion to unify his people than
being enemies. The church therefore should be the muse to acknowledge, preserve and
foster the great things, spiritual and moral, in addition because the sociocultural values
found among the followers of other religions. Moreover, by fostering this stuff to measure
within the Christian faith and life can definitely create a brotherly world.

8. If justice is the foundation of nations, show how it can contribute to world

peace.

Rizal believed that yearning for justice fosters camaraderie among nations. In fact, he’d
advocated a government policy on justice and love for the people due to their salutary effect in
fostering friendship among nations. This makes the nations stronger and more unified to figure
homogeneousness. Certainly contributing tranquil, peaceful world wherein justice is that the
main foundation of states. Justice contributes to world peace mutually cherish for the people
and value the sentiment of justice prevails, an aftermath are a perfect world for everybody. As
we actively look for the justice, we are creating a secure world, a brotherly universal for
everybody. Hence, implies that justice is indeed a robust tool of assuring order and to ascertain
unity and respect among different or at variant races

9. Is man’s redemption from a life of poverty essential to world peace? Why?

It is totally essential to world peace, as one's redemption from a lifetime of poverty
means social progression, and better standards of life. Universal order postulates the
redemption of humanity from poverty, oppression, and wretchedness as this is often the
duty of recent man to figure for the redemption of humanity because once man is dignified
there would be less unfortunate and better off men that are possible during this life.
However, if there are oppressed peoples, where whims and greediness are laws, there are
nations which subjugate others and tyranny, humanity can't be redeemed and world peace
are going to be far to succeed in.

10. How does racism hinder the promotion of world peace?

Racism is a prejudice directed against someone in the basis of their affiliation to a

specific racial or ethnical group. It is one in every of the negative results of colonialism, in
accordance to Dr. Jose Rizal. Today as within the past it's a social cancer, particularly
interfere with and salient obstruction to push world peace. In fact, prevent and interfere
with the popularity of equal dignity for all men. Degrading rather more the event of these that
suffer from inferiority, enriching and distorts those that apply it. Divides nations within
themselves, aggravates international conflict and threatens world peace. Furthermore, the
fatal unfavorable aftermath of the evils of discrimination, are highly exhibited on education,
science, culture, information and social progress.

11. Explain how respect for human dignity promotes world peace.

Rizal’s views on the value of human dignity are universal as this implies that he
believed that worth and implicit dignity of the individual, promotes world peace. In
fact, it's the inspiration of humanitarian freedom, justice and peace within the world as
bolstered by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. God created us in his own image,
making us the master of all earthly creatures, where he is spreading His glory. Therefore,
human dignity is that the intrinsic worth of a person's, inferring that we are one as Him, in
glorification, spreading humanity and world peace. Every individual is a person who
possesses dignity and value, brilliance and discretion. Indeed having rights and duties of our
own mainly fostering and respecting human dignity of all members of the human community,
which are therefore universal, sacrosanct and natural. By respecting and valuing one’s
existence there'll be love and peace. Amidst this, governments have a sacrosanct duty to
bolster the welfare of the people, and are established actually for that main reason. Thus, by
doing so, there'll be a world peace and brotherly relationship. Notwithstanding, if disregard
for the inherent dignity of man his human rights causes revolutions and sadistic, inhumane
acts, while if respects for them will prevail specifically, there’s ensures and assurance of
peace.

12. What is the ideal for peace set by Rizal? Explain how to attain the ideal.

Rizal sets the best of world peace in silent, tabula rasa and noble deeds, which are
all vital in achieving liberty and within the lifetime of the nations of the planet. He highlighted
that liberty won't be secure at the sword’s point, for the swords plays but little part in modern
affairs. Indeed everything that may came from violence and sanguine war won’t last long
and just easy to turn. Thus, being driven by retribution or remorse can never be an
honest start to fight for liberty, rather to love justice and use one’s intelligence is more
justifiable. To achieve the ideal peace, Rizal elucidated that we must secure peace by
making ourselves ought to have it, by revering the intelligence and therefore the dignity of
the individuals by yearning justice, suitably, and greatness of mankind. He also emphasized
abnegation, amity and forfeits to realize this peace, even to the extent of dying for them.
Only after these items are going to be accomplished God will provide a weapon, the
fetish are going to be shattered, the tyranny will crumble sort of a house of cards and liberty
will shine out just like the first dawn.

13. Why did the United Nations urge mother countries to end colonialism in all its
manifestations?

Rizal first urged countries to terminate colonialism he voiced the necessity for it if the
native land cannot promote the welfare of the people. Because it is a main goal to stimulate
satisfaction and well-being of her colonies and if she can’t do it, she ought to neglect them
and provides them their liberty. As nobody has the proper to cause others unfortunate, this
sentiment of Rizal was a concept to the general assembly of the world organization United
Nations. In the 10th of December 1960, The United Nations urges native soils to finish
colonialism entirely its manifestations through a resolution thanks to the leading concern of
countries to the welfare of the people in respect to world peace and sympathy because
of the emergence of the accumulation. Moreover, the decision of independence was also
thanks to the demand of time for the liquidation of such possessions and to shape world
peace.
14.After reading the chapter, evaluate the work of Rizal in promoting mutual
understanding among nations.

The noble and immoral ideas of Rizal were all instruments and doctrines in today’s
world in promoting mutual understanding or affection among nations. Commenced indeed
from the roots, and fruits, now, are often seen within the autonomy and prerogative we all
enjoy forthwith. To start out his lifetime crusade, Rizal formed International association of
Filipinologists in London in January 1899 to foster mutual understanding among scholars.
With the assistance of Blumentritt, Rizal was capable to establish the said association which
has aimed “to study the Philippines from the scientific and historical point of view.” Rizal also
promoted international congresses, sponsor public contests and work for the establishment
of a Philippine library and museum. Exactly analogous were the activities of United Nations
Educational Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). In December 1889, Rizal
urged his fellowmen to figure for the redemption of humanity from poverty, oppression, and
remorse. Eminently showed how Rizal’s value and account human dignity, and world peace.
Taking into account, Rizal’s legacy emphasizes the importance of solidarity to patronize a
world peace, and within the modern sense, necessitate high level diplomacy to avoid
untoward conflicts within the solution of problems between nations. From this, we will
conclude that Rizal’s add promoting mutual affection among nations did come from a radical
research, travels, passion for justice, liberty and mankind which all define sympathy among
nations, a world peace to be exact.
